I’m trying to think of what I should wear to StarFury Flux next year. I want to try cosplay for the first time but it’s a bit daunting!
I’m either going as Ianto Jones (been told I look a bit like him, he’s one of my faves, DGL will be there, and I kinda do wear shirts and wastecoats a lot - I could reuse the outfit in normal life) or for something a bit more experimental I’d like to make a male version of River Song (possibly in the denim outfit or a kind of Tomb Raider ish look, although I don’t want to have a gun).
What do people think? Any ideas for which is the most iconic Ianto or River outfit to try and do?

I’m not that familiar with Ianto though I suppose a waistcoat and carrying a mug around would make him identifiable to those who know.
As for a masc River, the denim is a good shout but my first thought was to do a twist on this dress: [1]
because you could find a kind of ruffley shirt and then the utility belt and stuff.

OK can you tell I’m no good at this, I have no idea how to make a male version of that dress. What would I wear on my lower half? (I want to look half decent cos I’m going to have photo ops with some of my heroes haha)

I’m just throwing ideas out there haha but my initial thinking is leading me to just generic trousers in a neutral kind of colour or black, and the dress is acutally less ruffely than I remember it in my head but I think there is something in this concept. If you were being fancy you could also maybe do something wide leg, or even genie style pants. It’s just a thought haha
But also something like the denim would be easier for sure! Or maybe the Pandorica Opens sheepskin coat, that’s pretty iconic too

This was another really easy one and honestly has never been one of my favorite of Peri’s outfits but I kinda look way hotter in it than I thought I would so I’m really happy with it. Might try to shorten the sleeves and find a new clip for the abacus charm

Happy Halloween. It’s still a work in progress, I need better shoes, hat band, the sort of scarf thing. But it’s not a bad start. Yes I did ponder whether or not it would make a difference if I put sugar in my tea.

Happy Halloween! Unfortunately I am melting a bit, but it’s windy enough for my coat to billow dramatically, so I say it’s worth it. Considering this is mostly a closet cosplay, I’m really happy with how it turned out…
