That’s one nice thing about this forum, nobody really gets upset if you don’t like something. They may dish out some playful ribbing, but so far, we haven’t had any shouting matches over anything. At its worst, some posts have gotten angry faces.
The others I can understand, but 0.5 for The Infinite Quest?! /lh
These are mine. I’m half surprised that The Hollows of Time, the Big Finish story does not land here too. Nothing from the new series that I’ve rated has gotten this score yet.
Oh you didn’t like the first Jenny story?
It didn’t leave me wanting more.
my average is 2.94 across 407 stories, which I’m surprised is quite a bit lower than other peoples. I think its because I’m rating them as Doctor Who episodes so even if I would give something 5 stars as an episode of television in general in, for Doctor Who it might be slightly lower, for example I adore Oxygen but I only gave it a 4 because even though its top tier television its not quite top tier Doctor Who for me.
My half stars are Let’s Kill Hitler, Human Nature/Family of Blood (I know people love it I just find it to be completely unengaging), Twin Dilemma (the most boring piece of television I’ve ever “watched”), Time-Flight, and Talons (both of which put me off for very similar reasons), and Torchwood Day One (the series 1 episode not CoE)
ive got 214 stories rated out of 404 completed with an average rating of 3.59. if i dont feel especially strong about a story/feel like i didnt pay enough attention to it i tend to skip rating it, so i have more stories that i really liked rated on here… i have a couple one-stars but my only half-star is Creed of the Kromon lol. a bit heavy on the sexual peril/damsels in distress/Writer’s Thinly Veiled Fetish for me. not to mention how much time it spends on having characters describing whats happening rather than incorporating it into the dialogue in a tactful way.
i’d share my one-stars but im afraid of getting skinned alive lol
My average rating is 3.59. I tend to think anything rated 3/5 is mediocre, and anything under that isn’t worth watching.
As for my lowest rated stories…
What Have I Done was so bad it made me regret buying all three Lives of Captain Jack boxsets. I think Voyage of the Damned might deserve a rewatch as I rated it based purely on my lack of memory of it. I didn’t like it much as a kid, so I didn’t rewatch it often. I planned to rewatch Edge of Destruction for the TV club now that I’m more comfortable with the classic format, but didn’t get around to it.
Undersigned being a newbie Who fan, I currently have 94 rated stories out of 113 completed. (Which would have been even less 4 days ago, because I only had 1 tv story rated before that.)
My average is 3.56. Apparently I have given more 4 stars than 3 stars, which surprises me, but it seems I was rating more positively overall than I remembered. I probably had the many, many 3.5s I gave in mind.
I only have one 0.5, which is for that stupid mobile game that exclusively feeds on peoples FOMO. If I hadn’t deleted it in the first few minutes I know for sure I would have spend a very regrettable amount of time on it.
Remember, you don’t have to watch it right when it drops in the feed. You can revisit it whenever time or inclination allows.
I know, but doing so on the assigned week is more fun.
Okay yeah, I just played The First Adventure (or at least, enough that I feel I can rate it)… and I’ve now got a second 0.5
Average rating across all stories: 3.81 / 5.00
339 completed stories. 300 rated. 67 favorited.
Lowest rated: Minuet in Hell, Nightmare in Silver, Timelash
Highest rated: Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, Heaven Sent, Wild Blue Yonder (and lots more!)
I see 70% or 3.5 as baseline good. I liked it decently enough. Then I go from there. Reaching down to 3/5 or 60%, it’s fine, like The Leisure Hive. Has some good moments but not as decent as some others.
Then 2.5 or lower is pretty bad for me. I get less technical about the numbers that low, but of course .5 or 1 star is truly terrible.
There’s a lot of Doctor Who I like, even more than some others such as Paradise Towers or The Claws of Axos.
There’s some stories I either haven’t finished all the way or haven’t seen or heard, so I avoid rating until I have.
Out of interest is that 0.5 for the story or for the gameplay?
The story (or what I say of it) was just so nothing, so it’s mostly for the gameplay
I got to frogger and just couldn’t keep going, it’s awful
My ratings can be rather all over the place, but as far as bad ratings go…
Edit: Admittedly, just looking at it, I’m wondering if I should swap Arachnids and Time of the Rani…
It has no story and the gameplay is more or less old games like Pacman and Frogger but instead of making them fun the control is bad and the graphics are terrible. The only good thing I can say about it is that the manual looks okay:
Arachnids does not deserve this slander /lh
Well, it wouldn’t let me give it a zero…
