Audio Club Extra Poll

Thanks to everyone who took part in Audio Club Extra’s foray into the Excelis Saga.

Next Saturday we’re going to continue being a bit Extra with a chance to discuss The Maltese Penguin. It was released between Neverland and Spare Parts so it seems an apt time to listen to it.

But beyond that, what is in store for Audio Club Extra. We’ll take a short break and then return with a new series based on the results of the poll below.

Which spin-off range would you like to discuss first? I’ve focussed on ranges released in the same time frame of the Main Range stories we’ve discussed so far, just to give it a focus and some sense of chronology.

  • Bernice Summerfield Series 1 (Oh No It Isn’t - Dragon’s Wrath)
  • Dalek Empire I
  • Death Comes to Time
  • Kaldor City
  • Sarah Jane Smith
  • Real Time
  • Doctor Who Unbound Series 1 (Auld Mortality - Deadline)
  • Gallifrey Series 1 (Weapon of Choice - A Blind Eye)

Surprised I, Davros isn’t in contention

Wasn’t released till 2006 and I’ve only gone as far as 2004.

Ahhhhh, that makes sense!

So I have a question revolving scheduling. If we’re continuing the Audio Club Extra, are we still going to take a break in the main Audio Club after Zagreus, or do we want to just plow through the Main Range on the “every Friday” release schedule with the Audio Club Extra for other ranges?

I think this is the best option. For me at least, there’s something really nice about starting my “week” (my regular days off are Wednesday-Thursday) with a fun little adventure with the Doctor.

We’ll take a vote but we’re a little way off yet.

No problem. I’m just thinking ahead. If we take Main Range breaks, that’s fine. If we don’t, great. Either way, it’ll take us several years to get through it at a release a week.

I’ve been meaning to start Gallifrey. I’d have to actually purchase the audios to participate, but that’s the one on the list that most interests me at the moment.

I would like something more connected to the new Who to have a bigger difference with the ordinary audio club. Rose, Missy, River, 9 Doctor Adventure, or something like that.

My vote is for…

Gallifrey… all the way!

Romana, Leela and K9,
Adventures with the Lords of Time,
For it is right and it is true,
To appreciate their full value,
We must devote our full attention,
As this series starts it’s great ascension,
To the lofty heights of sci fi glory,
It’s time that we begin this story!

I hope you guys know how insufferable I am going to be when we listen to Gallifrey :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

It’ll be fun. The hardest part for those of us who have already heard will be not spoiling later stuff. Especially the big character reveal at the end of Series 1.

I agree with @Tian , it could be cool to go for some Modern Who as extras and keep going with the Main Range in the Audio Club for a while.

How about doing some “Diary of River Song” or “War Master”? I feel like they are two ranges that keeps popping up in posts :slightly_smiling_face:

For people voting for Gallifrey, what’s the ‘Required Watching/Listening’ for it?
