I don’t want to derail the thread but every time Gallifrey turns up in a Doctor Who story I roll my eyes. I find it to be the dullest place in the universe! Sorry.

I do believe that’s why the Doctor left. That said, Gallifrey the series is awesome and it really comes down to the characters.

Political dramas are not my thing at all but I rate Gallifrey extremely highly, especially the first three seasons. As Darth says, it comes down to the characters - I especially like what they did with Lynda Bellingham’s Inquisitor - named Darkel in the audios.

Also, in my teasing of sircarolyn I forgot to mention I, Davros which is a stunning mini-series which is a marvellous exploration of Davros’s background. His mother, Calcula, is one of Doctor Who’s best unknown villains.

I will join the echo chamber; I loved the first two seasons of Gallifrey. I remember at the time feeling like all the things I had harangued Big Finish for not doing creatively were on show, and the central performances are all some of the finest work done by those actors, in a largely female cast to boot. I will say that it did seem to start to drag, almost sagging under its own weight by the third season, but I do mean to revisit it soon and see where it goes.

Jago and Litefoot is my pet series, by dint of it having been on Spotify free when I was looking for it, but also for being, I think, consistently of halfway good to amazing quality and evoking the tone and period almost immaculately.

I only listened to two episodes of Master! but I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it and how much Eric Roberts is clearly enjoying being back in the role.

Out of Big Finish and Doctor Who, there will always be a place in my heart for The Magnus Archives for not only the sheer ambition of the project but the fact that, by and large, they pulled it off to the skilled extent they did.

Mine is the Tenth Doctor Adventures because it feels like going back to 2006-2010 again.

On TV, this can the case (especially in the 80s). However, on audio things are very different. I adore the Gallifrey series, though I have yet to catch up on more recent releases. Plenty of excellent listening ahead.

Lucky me, huh?

I love these too. A very faithful recreation of the era. The stories featuring Donna are particularly superb!

Seconded. These are amongst the finest audios. So vivid, I actually feel like I have watched them. This is Davros’s story for me. These are more real and more in keeping with the Davros we know and love than the child Davros featured in ‘Magician’s Apprentice/Witch’s Familiar’.

Big fan of Torchwood TSC. If I had to stick to Doctor Who I’d say the War Doctor Series.
