This just came up in my YouTube recommendations, and looks really interesting!
Coming on 2nd December 2024, another exciting Doctor Who reimagining. Wild Noir Yonder takes the 60th Anniversary Special “Wild Blue Yonder” and gives it the classic Black and White 4:3 Horror Treatment! With new cuts and edits, and reimagined entirely - A tribute to a new fan favourite episode that aired almost 1 year ago…
So - first, we bring the '60s black and white serial to life in colour, and then we reverse the process by re-editing modern Who episodes so that they are black and white and old school.
Looks cool! I’m probably going to check out at some point!
It requires having ffmpeg installed, but yeah, just command line.
In fact, ffmpeg -i movie.mp4 movie.mkv
is usually good enough, the rest is just to prevent subtitles from being stripped out. It’s just telling it to take the input video file, and reencode it with sane defaults and save it as the output. It’s just that sane defaults tend to be a lot better then what things were saved at initially, and mkv is a pretty good format.
