Why did you choose your username?

I use the same username I use on all logging sites (Letterboxd, Serializd and so on).

I used to just use my legal name as my Letterboxd username. Then I got a job in film distribution and I felt slightly weird about the idea of speaking with studios whilst I’m using my name to rate the same films I’m working with them on, often with lower scores than they might want.

The day I got the job, I quickly tried to come up with a new username off the top of my head. I like Muppets and monkeys, so randomly came up with that and I’ve kept it ever since.

I’m sure I could have come up with something better given more time but for a rushed decision whilst my mind was also getting excited for a new job and considering moving house for the first time as an adult because of it, I definitely could have picked something worse.

It’s the abbreviation of my full name Stylesington Ferryworth III.

Obviously.

I chose mine because it comes from one of my favourite doctor who quotes that always reminds me to appreciate the everyday things of the world that makes life worth living :beating_heart:

I got kinda obsessed with the song Daydream Believer by the Monkees after it was used in WandaVision. The vibes of the title phrase, but not necessarily the actual lyrics of the song, just felt like a fitting description of me, so I started using it as a username for things online!

oh, that’s a point, I can do this again!

My name’s Eve, but I wanted to give it a bit of a twist, and have had friends joking about how it’s similar to eevee, so figured might as well lean into it!

It’s a username I share with my main other source of Doctor Who communication, so I just used this when making an account here to keep them all linked in my head.

Where it originates from is a joke about a theoretical Dragon Ball character and how many of the names are puns on food items, hence “Potago” deriving from “potato”. Verrrry subtle, I’m aware.

You know, this felt weird when I first saw it. Having a guy named after a one-off 60s serial just seemed off… until I remembered where Koquillion was from.

It’s from my favourite Sappho fragment translated by Anne Carson “someone will remember us I say even in another time.” I’ve used it before as a username for a few other sites and it feels especially appropriate for anything Doctor Who related.

Though my praise for it has muted (only slightly, of course) over time, I was known by some friends as The Rescue guy when I was wholly assured of its 10/10 status. This is a variation on a couple Koquillion-oriented usernames

I’m sure, with a name like that, reference has been made to a slightly altered version of Doctor Evil’s world blackmail where he asks for a “Koquillion dollars”!

I chose Big Blue Box because of the TARDIS, and 200 because of the 200 bus from Planet Of The Dead.
