Three thoigh I could hear two in my head so clearly, just couldn’t remember the episode ugh. Also huge pet peeve of mine calling Earth ‘Sol 3’ - it should be Sol 4 because the Sun is Sol 1!!! That’s how astronomers name things!!!

That’s how human astronomers name things. That was a warning for non-humans and would presumably use the Galactic Standard naming convention. (Hopefully that nonsense I made up helps it be less annoying)

Astronomers use letters after the star name for planets outside of our system. The star getting a, planets going b, c, d, etc. in order of discovery rather than distance from the star. They don’t really apply any of that sort of naming convention for the Sol system though, it’s just Earth, Jupiter, etc. The number thing is purely a sci-fi construct.
