What's your Doctor Who 'ick'?

Why can’t The Doctor just have 2 wives?

Suggesting someone has two wives…

You’re not married are you…

Don’t worry, my friend, I could tell it was meant kindly. One of the things I really like about this place is that it’s blissfully snark free.

Whoniverse winds me up!
It just feels like trying to be more Marvel/ Star Wars etc.

I’m not sure it counts as an ‘ick’, but I don’t like that my Big Finish CDs have different Doctor Who logos. Whilst I know its a trivial thing, it still irks me.

Not using Eleven’s terminology, then :grin::grin:

The Last of the Time Lords, where chanting the Doctor’s name is a STUPID resolution to a cliffhanger!!!

I’ve always hated the “magical” ending of that serial.

Because one is quite enough, thank you! At least for my poor wallet :joy:

When either (and both) Doctor Who and the fandom try to tie together characters and story arcs that have no reason to be tied together.

Was thinking about this seeing the talk around the pantheon in the Sequels to Seasons 1 topic.

I am sorry, but does RTD really believe uniting the Mara, the Trickester and possibly Fenric in a single pantheon make any sense whatsoever? It makes the universe feel smaller.

It’s a fun game to have as a throwaway line but doesn’t, I agree, hold up to much scrutiny (and kind of warps what those characters actually were to make them fit - Sutekh being the prime example with all his Osirian background seemingly ignored).

But fandom has been doing this for years - the Black and White Guardians got joined by the Toymaker among others in the novels; the Doctor, the Master, the Rani, the Monk etc etc were all part of a secret organisation at the academy (both of these are admittedly Gary Russell writing in the same novel but still).

Plus if we are talking about making up a reason for the Master being bonkers…

Master did it better. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Can I say my “ick” would be the Simm Master? I don’t like him at all :sob: I loved his episodes on series 3 but I didn’t like him as a character

I much prefer his Master in The Doctor Falls.

I’m not a master fan of his original characterisation in series 3 and The End of Time.

Especially The End of Time.

I prefer Missy :two_hearts:

Have you read the Missy comic?

It was such a fun read, the sequel is also quite good.

There is a sequel???

It’s called “A Doctor In the House?”

Technically it’s part of the multimedia “Doom’s Day” event, but it can be enjoyed separately from the event.

It essentially acts as a sequel to the Missy comic, picking up after “The Master Plan” and shares some of the same elements from that comic.
