What's your Doctor Who 'ick'?

I’m with you, but that’s because of Creed of the Kromon. Martin is just so unbelievably sexist in every story he writes from what I’ve heard.

So true. You can call 15’s second season series 15 or season 2 or season 41 but never season 15 :triumph:

season 15 obviously means 4th’s run…

Oh yes, there is only one Season 15. And it’s a glorious season!

I have seen this take a lot and I don’t get it. What is the difference between a series and a season?

If one uses these two words interchangeably it causes confusion (for me). I can’t stand it. I’ll have to check if they meant Classic Who or New Who…

But this doesn’t even work anymore. We have two season 1 and will soon have two season 2.

Yup that bugs me the most… I’m calling the season we are expecting S41. Not season, not series, just S.

In Chinese we translate both words to 季. Our forum should adopt this version.

Yeah and I don’t like that either! It just causes confusion.

I like series for NuWho and season for Classic because it just makes things clear, and it’s the consistent terminology that was used until 15th Doctor.

I think we should make up a new S-word for the new Ncuti seasons (and beyond). How about Shabang?

Shabang 1 and Shabang 2!

It has a good ring to it!

It could also be bingle bongle biggie buggie doo dah 1 and 2, but I believe that it might prove to be a bit too long.

I tend to default to saying season no matter what show I’m talking about, mostly because my native language also calls them that (same word as seasons of the year) so it feels more natural, even though the rest of my vocabulary leaned British (which is believe uses series more commonly, but correct me if I’m wrong). All this is why I tend to use S[number] in writing. It’s quicker, too.

I move that we totally discard seasons and series and simply sort every single episode since 1963 alphabetically and give each episode a corresponding number starting with “42” which would be #0001.
Every time a new episode title is announced we will then shift the numbers accordingly.

No-one will ever have to be confused again! :sunglasses:

Hang on a minute…
Was this some sort of sneaky attempt to get me to agree with you, and then you spring the trap that #0054 and #0055 are “End of Time, The” Parts 1 and 2???

(Did everyone but me get that right away… :eyes: )

No - I couldn’t be bothered to check. @Tian clearly has too much time on his hands.

Yeah good thing he doesn’t have an upcoming wedding to prepare for :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I was wondering when you were going to get that. I asked ChatGTP what number it would have :joy:

I didn’t figure that out, but I had a strong suspicion about it and you confirmed it for me!

Edit, since I also have too much time on my hands:

I absolutely loathe #0293 and wish it went missing forever!
