I tried to get us back on track at least
Those aren’t the same thing?
oh my godddd you don’t check your phone the second you wake up and there are 143 unread messages in this topic?? what ARE you all talking about???
I must say as a Brit in the US I have started getting confused and I’ll say ‘gas station’ without thinking now then again I also asked the other day ‘who’s toastin’ summat?’ in wayy too strong an accent for everyone at work and they just looked at me like
To briefly bring this back on topic:
What’s making my day is that I’ll be getting my uni’s maths sweater today! I’ll finally be a real maths student
They spell ‘love for all’ with mathematical symbols on them which is both very cool and enough to make everyone who doesn’t know how to read them despair
Ikr, i woke up to 17 notifications and a sudden top 5 on the leaderboard
If it’s fizzy, my family just call it “fizz”. Soda is American, but it’s not called “juice” either.
Juice is when you use a fruit to make a juice.
From the Norf.
Very passionate, I love fizz
I think I caused an age crisis. I did warn I was feeling sexy as an eldritch abomination that fed from conflict
don’t worry about it
& the latest update. Our external IT Support team are having issues with their phones. An automated message, please email us or use the online chat function. Well I cannot get into my account or laptop!
No I do. Controversially I use turkey mince.
But it’s hot
The idea that Americans can all agree to call soda the same thing lol. Unfortunately you could literally have the debate we’re having right now just within America. Depending on where you live it’s soda, a soft drink, pop, or just coke (as in you refer to all soda as coke and through context clues your friends are just supposed to know you just mean whatever soda is currently in the fridge).
146 new posts and most of it is debating the regional names for Pop, French Fries and Potato Chips. Plus we already had a big discussion on cookies/biscuits last year in one of the threads, maybe free for all, maybe food, I don’t remember.
That would be Mug of the Day
Of course it was
Same in Brazil! São Paulo and Rio have a fierce debate that’s pretty much the same as “biscuit” vs “cookie”, but in Portuguese. I guess it comes with being a gigantic country with lots and lots of immigration.
And I always find that funny cause they are just different things in Minas.
Which is one reason why my last job was big on the switch to everyone working remotely as far as the IT Support you call. If you don’t have one call center handling the IT support calls, but rather, everyone working individually from their homes, it’s far less likely for the phones to go down…
