What Should You Watch/Read/Listen To Next?

Ended up watching Twice Upon a Time, since I didn’t really have several hours, and that was the second most voted for.

Definitely had good parts. Most of the bad parts revolved around David Bradley not being William Hartnell, and a general impression that Stephen Moffat has never watched the 1st Doctor’s era.

It’s especially jarring because with my filling out the gaps, I’ve been tending to mostly watch the 1st and 2nd Doctor lately, so it was immediately not “it just changed to color”, but “it just changed to a totally different actor”. Honestly didn’t feel like he had Hartnell down, either.

Not to mention that the 1st Doctor doesn’t act like that towards women, and the comment about a restaurant for the French didn’t really sit right, having seen The Reign of Terror.

Ah well, at least I can say I’ve seen all of new Who. Non-animated, anyways.

The two animated Ten stuff are really bad. Not in a K9 it is bad but interesting way. It is just bad.

Can we at least agree that “Dreamland” is a great big Kroll-sized pile of Ogron droppings?

I think I liked Dreamland slightly better than the Infinite Quest, story-wise. Everything else, not so much.

I’ve got a soft spot for The Infinite Quest, it’s just a fun romp

Dreamland on the other hand is a boring slog

And of course, I haven’t watched any of it :joy:

Seeing as I want to get into audio drama more, and BBC Sounds has a large selection available, which of these should I listen to?

  • Tenth Doctor: Technophobia
  • Out of Time
  • Early Adventures: Isos Network
  • Ninth Doctor: Sphere of Influence
  • Main Range: Assassination Games
  • Classic Doctors, New Monsters: Fallen Angels
  • Lost Stories: Mind of the Hodiac
  • Companion Chronicles: Beginning
  • Redacted: SOS

Wish I could vote for multiple choices. Fallen Angels is a favorite of mine (and features a pre-Master Sacha Dhawan), but the Out of Time trilogy is great too, and so is Technophobia.

Haven’t listened to them all, but Technophobia is a fun story with very good S4 vibes, while Fallen Angels is one of the better Classic Doctors, New Monsters stories (and it has a pre-Master Sacha Dhawan in it).

Also wish I could vote multiple, Technophobia was a lot of fun. But I have to be loyal to my Counter Measures gang, you understand

Is this the next Gallifrey? Do I need to listen to this next?

YESSSSS!!! Do you like Remembrance of the Daleks? Do you like 60s flavoured SF? Do you like women? Then Counter Measures is for you!

*That last point might be me being a little Allison biased… but I love her ok…

Well I am fairly certain Group Captain Gilmore and Sir Toby Kinsella aren’t women… :eyes::wink:

The little gang of the two lady scientists and the bemused Air Force captain from Remembrance, and you can never watch Remembrance the same after. They’re the supporting cast in that episode and I love them <3

Noooo! Don’t suggest it! I have already too much to listen to!

Must. Not. Read. @sircarolyn’s. Comments.

Must. Stay. Away.

See? I’m not the only one in need of a rewatch!
