Ended up watching Twice Upon a Time, since I didn’t really have several hours, and that was the second most voted for.
Definitely had good parts. Most of the bad parts revolved around David Bradley not being William Hartnell, and a general impression that Stephen Moffat has never watched the 1st Doctor’s era.
It’s especially jarring because with my filling out the gaps, I’ve been tending to mostly watch the 1st and 2nd Doctor lately, so it was immediately not “it just changed to color”, but “it just changed to a totally different actor”. Honestly didn’t feel like he had Hartnell down, either.
Not to mention that the 1st Doctor doesn’t act like that towards women, and the comment about a restaurant for the French didn’t really sit right, having seen The Reign of Terror.
Ah well, at least I can say I’ve seen all of new Who. Non-animated, anyways.
Wish I could vote for multiple choices. Fallen Angels is a favorite of mine (and features a pre-Master Sacha Dhawan), but the Out of Time trilogy is great too, and so is Technophobia.
Haven’t listened to them all, but Technophobia is a fun story with very good S4 vibes, while Fallen Angels is one of the better Classic Doctors, New Monsters stories (and it has a pre-Master Sacha Dhawan in it).
The little gang of the two lady scientists and the bemused Air Force captain from Remembrance, and you can never watch Remembrance the same after. They’re the supporting cast in that episode and I love them <3
