Girl Who Waited is perfectly heartbreaking and shows you who the Doctor really is. Between that and God Complex, it’s no wonder 11 and the Ponds were ready for a little break.
Holy ■■■■, 14 years. Now I know what I’m rewatching (again) tonight
Today is also 14 years since Doctor’s Wife, wow, love that story myself.
Love that Episode myself! The Actress who plays the humanoid Tardis does a superb Job!
I’ve never been a fan of The Doctor’s Wife to be honest.
I just never saw what was so special about it
Plus now it doesn’t help knowing what the writer has done
One of the highlights of Series 6 for me, a very fun episode, always good to see the inside of the TARDIS, and I love how we actually got to see the TARDIS speak for once.
It’s not perhaps as good as the pedestal many put it on at the time but I do have a great fondenss for it and that end scene gets me every time
Plenty to love in a series that often gets pilloried for not properly dealing with Amy and Rory’s trauma following A Good Man Goes to War. I love a fair few of these, paticularly; The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon, The Doctor’s Wife (I try not to think about the fact NG wrote it - but I can still appreciate how well done it was), The Girl Who Waited (almost perfect) and The God Complex.
In the end, I voted for The God Complex. It’s my kind of weird, has a lovely almost-companion in Rita (oh Rita, how you deserved so much more!), and dares to go to some really interesting places. Following on from The Girl Who Waited, this completes a powerful one-two critique of a Doctor who seems silly and fun on the surface, yet harbours a darkness.
I love this story. Praise him!
