Gosh, another tough one. I love this series, I watched it endlessly in 2012
I don’t really have a favorite here, this was my least favorite Moffat season.
Am I the only one who thinks Impossible Astronaut is the best episode in Series 6? I just love it,that whole beginning is great.
Nope. I just voted for that one
not surprised god complex is at the top, while i think its good its not my favorite.
Easily The Girl who Waited– I’m surprised it’s not higher. Perfect, emotional sci-fi.
The God Complex is so good, a really compelling mystery plus some huge emotional beats with Amy, and that ending!!
Watching it live I had no idea what was coming next and it was a hugely exciting time to be a fan.
I also love The Silence so Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon are great too.
There are lots of excellent episodes in series 6 – the opening 2 parter, the god complex, the girl who waited and the doctors wife. I went for day of the moon because its a massive comfort episode for me – I love the silence as a villain, and it has some really great doctorriver scenes
Going with the God Complex on this one. Although the Opening Two-Parter is like the best Opening Story for any revived Season in my eyes, just so good. Girl who waited is also excellent Stuff.
This one was tough. There’s lots of great episodes; Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon, Girl who Waited, and God Complex. I ended up choosing God Complex with the first part of the opening as a very close second.
I went for Wedding of River Song, but there’s a lot of very good ones in this series
Slim pickings. The opener showed promise and potential, so I went for that.
So, my favourite from this season is The Doctor’s Wife, it hits all the right beats for me: it’s beautiful, a wonderful inspection of the Doctor’s character with some fantastic art direction and performances.
Unfortunately, it’s written by Neil Gaiman who has recently revealed himself to be a terrible person because people keep being awful and I can’t enjoy shit.
So I’m going to go for the highly underrated The Girl who Waited, which is an equally beautiful character study with great performances, art direction, examination of the Doctor’s character and with an ending that makes me want to sob like a baby.
That it’s one of the best series opener ever. TARDIS team, River Song and the (fake out) regeneration are amazing.
this was surprisingly tough! i really love The Girl Who Waited, but i went with Curse of the Black Spot because it was my favorite episode as a kid and i had a feeling if i didn’t pick it, no one else would…
One of the best Two-Parters and Openers of NuWho. I love this one to pieces. It uses its Tardis Crew so well, has a great Story and I love the Sil- wait what was I about to say again? I don’t remember..
I think I have to go with The God Complex. It’s so good, I love the concept of using fears to farm faith. And the scene where Eleven is telling Amy all the reasons she shouldn’t have faith in him is fantastic. But The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon are definitely a close second
@moderators Should this be moved from General / off topic to Television > Doctor Who (2005-2022)?
