What Episodes/Audios Would You Like To See Novelized?

With Jubilee and The Chimes of Midnight getting novelizations soon, what other audios/episodes would people like to see get novelizations? Any particular reason? I’d really love one for Midnight. With the amount of tension going on in that episode, I’d love to get a glimpse into some of the characters’ heads.

We do have this topic, but I think focuses mostly on un-novelized TV stories: What TV stories would you like to see get a novelization?.

That said, I’m still on the fence about novelizing audios. Especially since their are stories that just can’t work in any other medium.

Scherzo. It should be a book with nothing but 250 white pages. It would save on print costs!

Midnight would be a really interesting one, now that I think about it - personally, I think it would need to go the way of the Dalek novelisation and add in some flashbacks to flesh out the characters. Otherwise, it would be a pretty short novel (but undoubtedly a good one).

For me, my completely selfish answers are A Death in the Family and Heaven Sent, purely because they are two of my favourite stories and I would like more versions of them! For similar reasons, I would love to see The Holy Terror or Scherzo, especially given we’re already getting two Robert Shearman novelisations.

I think for me, the main appeal of the novelisations is for the original writer of the story to have the chance to deliver another take on it and expand on the existing version. I’ve been a bit disappointed by the recent Target novelisations because of this (with the exception of Rogue, I think they are all by different writers), so I hope in future we can go back to having the original writers come in.

I’ll keep saying all six episodes of Flux written by Chris Chibnall :slightly_smiling_face:

I agree with you. It would be interesting to see if there is a good story that is hidden under the things that ended up on screen.

Me too. I painted on the wall 26 years ago and my mum wasn’t happy!

Asylum of the Daleks and Beneath the Viscoid. The former is an excuse to learn more about Oswin.

The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit.

Considering Hooklight was inspired by a radio adaptation of Lord of the Rings, I think it’s only natural in bringing balance to the universe that it gets turned into a novel (I know it hasn’t even fully released yet I’m indeed still obsessed with Hooklight let me).

Going to use this thread as one for EU Stories, thinking of it, there are perhaps some fun ones that I would like to see novelized:
For starters, while TV, a dimension in Time Target Novel would be delightfully bonkers! I would even write if is the BBC needed a Writer!!!
There is of course Zagreus, which was already mentioned here, and I’d think that could be a lot of fun!
I think If I should die before I wake could be interesting for some great Prose! I would also be interested seeing an Adaption for “Lucie Miller/To the Death”, could even have a very silly Title like “Doctor who and Lucie Miller.. to the Death” for SUCH A SILLY STORY!
But really it’s hard to say what Audio Stories would suit the Medium of a Novel, there are some which only really work in that Medium, so I rather hope those never get a shoot, but I would be interested nonetheless to see where this goes! Maybe even some Stories that I didn’t care for or didn’t love could get a new whole Life in the Medium of a Novel!

I would like for “The Power of Three” to be novelized because I love it when books include in-universe newspaper or magazine articles/blog posts/letters/messages/etc as a part of the story, and it would be an interesting way to show how the world reacted to the cubes. Also, a novelization could provide the story with the satisfying ending that it deserved but didn’t receive on screen.

I think a fantastic novel could be written for The Next Doctor.

From Jackson’s point of view, he’s the Doctor for the first half of the novel and then OMFG :scream:

It’s probably a better way to tell the story than a TV episode was to be honest. And, Cyberking aside, I really like the TV episode.
