Interesting thoughts.
We also have our TV Club threads for specific episode discussion so do check those out to see what else people thought of the episodes. None of those threads ever close.

Today, I finished Image of the Fendahl. Definitely a story that puts ‘vibes’ above storytelling, a criticism I’ve seen levelled at much of RTD2.
But, with that, I’ve finally seen all of Tom Baker. So, of course, I ranked his era.
Those with an asterisk are ones that I remember very little of beyond my general opinion of them.
Wow, Seeds of Doom that low?
I remember very little about it, but I do remember being really underwhelmed and not understanding why it’s so loved. One day I’ll return to it and try to reassess. But I can’t see it ever reaching the heights of my top 10.
This was kind of my opinion too when I watched it for the first time, though I still liked it. After a rewatch I really saw what everyone liked about it though, even if I think Season 13’s best is the preceding story.
Just watched Closing Time.
Crying my eyes out. Beautiful episode. Incredible.
Might be one of my favourite episodes of New Who. (I remember saying this to my friend Alex, when it aired, and he called me mad.)
Just incredibly beautiful.
Just went back to watch the beginning of The Impossible Astronaut,
And I can’t believe I have never noticed how badly Amy is ADR’d, when she says “they’re both time travelers. They never meet in the right order. They’re syncing their diaries.” (3:30)
That is absolutely dreadful ![]()
Oof, that is pretty rough!
Welp series 6 was even better than I remember it being. There was only one dud (The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People) everything else was brilliant.
I love how well seeded everything is. Just perfect.
Beautiful beautiful series of a beautiful show.
one of you guys pointed out how Night Terrors was clearly meant to go earlier in the series (with Amy and Rory searching for Melody) and man was that obvious on rewatch ![]()
Can’t believe I never pieced that together.
Onto series 7! Clara Oswald, here I come!
We watched The Snowman and The Bells of Saint John last night. I’ll do a write-up later.
This morning we are continuing on in Series 7B. Currently 3/4 of the way through The Rings of Akhaten. I don’t get why people rate it so highly. I find it incredible boring.
I thought it was really poorly thought of!
Same. It does have its fans but, generally, it doesn;t seem to be one of the most-liked stories from that season. (I found it incredibly boring too)
I hated Akhaten on first broadcast. I’ve softened towards it since, but it isn’t one I seek out. The leaf stuff is just wishy washy nonsense, and it’s pretty dull, but it has some nice imagery and effects.
The 3.42 on the guide seems to say otherwise.
Now we’re on to Cold War. One I really enjoy, other than the slithering Ice Warrior stuff.
I really like Akhaten ![]()
Well to me 3.5 is classified as good.
