Finished A Day in the Death. Wow.
Continuing with Class. This is a very strange show

Hey, that is my region too! Maybe it is time for a rewatch!
@Jamie Miss Quill said abysmal!!!
I really don’t like Ram
The end of A Day in the Death…
I was bullied by athletic guys in PE class way too much to have the same amount of sympathy for athletic guys in fiction as I do for other characters. No offense to any athletic guys here on TARDIS Guide; I doubt that any of you would’ve bullied me in PE class.
The cover of the movie looks amazing though!
Just watched the first Cushing movie and honestly had a lot of fun with it. Ian was really fun
The movie looked phenomenal the colours and the sets just worked so well.
I’m 5/6th of the way through The Seeds of Doom and I’m having so much fun (love it when plants go wrong). Whilst I don’t think I’d put s13 as my top favourite DW series, it’s one of the most consistently solid ones and I don’t think it has a single Bad serial, just ones imo Less Good than the others
Then this trope is for you! “Evil Vegetation”
No way that’s brilliant. My “Doctor Who Media To Get Round To Next” list grows ever longer
I knew The Green Death was meant to be good, but I didn’t know just how good
Not even one part through yet, but I love Jo and The Brig being at odds a bit, and the cutting between Jo and Dr Jones and The Brig and the people at the factory is just a really fun scene, loving everything about it.
Also Three just ■■■■■■■ off to Metabilis 3 is also really funny
Castrovalva, with the fun commentary track.
Metebelis 3 - fans didn’t go into uproar when Matt Smith pronounced it incorrectly in Hide, for you to spell it wrong.
Honestly, some people…
So I decided, totally on a whim, to rewatch The Rings of Ahkatan. Now, I held this episode in high regard before, but mostly because of Matt Smith’s amazing speech. However, on this most recent of rewatches, I felt the emotional beaks of the episode really get to me, mind you, it could just be the wine talking .
Clara’s leaf truly is a wonderful representation of both humanity and life. It represents the impossible odds that go into our lives, if just one thing changed, if that leaf just didn’t snap off it’s branch, life would be completely different. It shows that we are unique beings, people forged through years of coincidences and impossible to replicate choices, there is no one else like us.
Originally I thought that using the leaf to defeat the god scene was a bit of a deus ex machina, but upon really focusing on the words that were spoken, my understanding of that scene changed. Initially, I thought it was just a bit of a generic “human potential is limitless” cliché storytelling that sci-fi shows really love to use. But I then realised that Clara wasn’t talking about herself, or her potential, but instead the potential of her mother. Her mother, who had a wealth of potential, was tragically cut short far too young, she never got to fully live her life. Clara carries with her the book of 101 places to visit that belonged to her mother, it was her goal to visit all those places, inherited by her daughter, and that potential can really make parasite gods blaze.
I do truly enjoy rewatching these types of episodes, as I’m already well aware of the plot, it lets me dedicate more of my attention to these smaller things that add so much to the story. I truly love this episode, it both conveys the spirit of humanity, while also perfectly demonstrating just how old the Doctor really is. The Doctor is old and weary and tired from a long life, and there is no one left in the universe who can properly grasp the age of the universe. A wonderful send-off for the Last of the Time Lords before Moffat brings Gallifrey back a number of episodes later.
5/5 stars, one of my favourites, and also has some of the best songs Murray Gold has made for NuWho.
“You made us, man of evil. But we are free!”
The Seeds Of Doom is a FAVORITE. It divides up the six-parter in a really satisfying way and Harrison Chase is like a Top 5 human villain, he is deliciously insane. The Doctor is a little more action hero than I personally need but the story purely rocks.
Yesss Chase is so much fun to watch
