Sadly, Frontier in Space was Delgado’s final appearance, due to his untimely death…

I did know, but I’d forgotten which story exactly it was

Watched two reeltime productions today, War Time and Downtime. Eh, they were okay.

I finished The Haunting of Villa Diodati tonight too! Fun and creepy, loved the Lone Cyberman, and the Doctor’s speech at the end. I’ve got to say, having seen this and listened to Mary’s Story/The Silver Turk, it was interesting to see the different interpretations of this exact night!

She’s so autistic I love her

The Ambassadors OF DEATH on the new Collection set.

The story here is pretty neat, with the idea of peaceful aliens being used by a xenophobic general as a pretext for his revenge on them for killing his colleague by accident on a previous Mars probe landing, he plans to unite the world against the alien ship despite them having the power to handily annihilate the whole planet in an instant. The espionage and political elements of the story are nice, but they do get smothered somewhat by the endless action sequences, which become a little tiresome (and unfortunately do not look great with the current colorization technique, it’s all a little smeary and strange when they’re moving fast).

Liz Shaw is again sort of underused, and yet when she is captured (for the back FOUR PARTS) she shows herself to be super capable at science tasks and escape tasks, she weirdly gets strong stuff to do when captured lol. The blue cashmere turtleneck belted mini sweater dress is maybe her best outfit, the giant floppy white hat is just pure flair. The Doctor gets to fly a rocket to space, you gotta love that, and he looks amazing slash ridiculous in the space suit; and the set they only show here where he has the TARDIS console set up, that green room with the stained glass window and the TV and everything, why wasn’t that his lab for the whole of Pertwee?! It’s so good.

Good guest actors but no really memorable guest roles. Really good score. A lot of effort but a padded script. 3.25/5

Haunting is scary as ■■■■, one of my faves.

I think that it is the most interesting take on sexuality in the whole Whoniverse (at least the part that I have consumed). @BillFiler wrote a great review of it.

They are not even naked that much. You are just a prude!

I love that review written by @BillFiler’s! After reading it I knew I couldn’t miss this movie

I remember having it as one of my goals this year to watch Zygon. It’s still on my radar, just to prove Delta wrong!

No time like the :wrapped_gift:

Reminder of this thread

Given Zygon definitely has a lot to say about sex and sexuality (though no idea how much of that is intentional)

Watched “Face the Raven” this fine morning :black_bird:

I don’t think I clocked before that this had pre-MCU Letitia Wright in it. At least she is better here than in the god awful “Wakanda Forever” :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing:

Maisie Williams does a good job at acting slightly differently as Ashildr/Me every time she pops up in series 9 And she is better here than in the god awful “New Mutants” :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing:

Peter Capaldi is on form as always in Doctor Who And he is better here than in that god awful “Suicide Squad” movie he was in :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing:

And Jenna Coleman is amazing :grin::grin: She was also in a superhero movie, but it was only a cameo, and I like “The First Avenger”:wink::wink:

Guess I am watching “Heaven Sent” tonight :star_struck::grin::tada::+1::blush:

That feels like something that I would have remembered. It was probably the other one I saw.
