It is good that the internet is a big place. This was the best one.

Just watched Pyramids of Mars, part 1.
(Though I watched the new version only a week ago)
It’s just so good.

Why would they tamper with that time tunnel effect for the TotT version? It was blooming brilliant! And cutting out the bit where the Doctor calls Sarah “Vicky” and says that the dress was one Victoria wore? Nope. The updated effects and soundtrack was pretty good though :slightly_smiling_face:

I think that it is one of @shauny favorites as well.

1 ep into The Happiness Patrol and I already love Eral Sigma. As a student of Psychology, I’m always excited when dw gets to discuss human (and non-human!) psychology.

Maybe try a VPN? I just watched the first ep and it’s fun

I found another place to see it. It was good. After seeing it I understand why this one had a region lock and the others did not.

So why is it region-locked?

That episode has a lot of archive footage that probably has a lot of different rightsholders in different regions.

Has there ever been a Doctor Who story where the Doctor (or someone else) eats Marmite?
Apparently yes. The Marmite does not appear to be depicted favorably.

The Ice Warriors

I think the pacing of this 6 parter worked better than the previous one (The Abominable Snowmen) or maybe I just got more used to it. There was maybe a weee bit of faff towards the end but the tense bits really really sucked me in so that’s a good sign. It felt very Ian Stuart Black as a script (I know it wasn’t him, he’s just been my favourite Big Thoughts guy so far) and I think it showed one of the main upsides of 6 episodes - ie space to go into depth about ideas and show the characters as nuanced, complicated humans.

Speaking of which, awwwww and they all lived happily ever after <3 (except for poor precious idiot Storr :sob:)

My only criticism would be that the motivations of the warriors themselves felt maybe a little generic and difficult to feel engaged by. But the design and the hissing was cool ^.^

(I realise this sort of looks like a review but I think I would polish it a bit more if I was going to do that)

Where’s the Marmite inventory filter? We require justice for Marmite!

Currently halfway through series 9 in my post-classic series rewatch. As we all know, one the finest pieces of television ever created and this time around it’s gaining even more weight on me, if that’s even possible.

On * The Talons of Weng-Chiang* ep1 and surprised that the 4th Dcotror says he speaks Mandarin. Then Baker just speaks complete jibberish after the first “hello”

Started a proper NuWho rewatch today in lieu of a New New Who episode to watch with breakfast. ‘Rose’ was as delightful as I remembered. Tense, funny, domestic, great introduction

Remember, the TV Club has threads for Series 1 up through Boom Town.
