Having Mel already be a companion when we first see her is interesting but I really miss having a proper introduction to her.

There is a story that makes Kinda and Snakedance into a Fifth Doctor/Mara trilogy titled The Cradle of the Snake by Marc Platt that’s really good.

Oh yeah. Forgot about that one. It’s been quite a while since I heard the Main Range (and have kind of gotten stuck after Spare Parts in the Audio Club) :slightly_smiling_face:

Of course you bring back Tegan. She’s the one the Mara’s been in this whole time…

Especially since the Mara has already been referred to as the God of Beasts by Sutekh which I dont understand how he could get it so wrong. The Mara is about the temptation and darkness in the mind. Is he unable to see past the snake?

That is what I would be afraid of if it was brought back right now. The snake is the least interesting part of the Mara! It’s not just a God of Beasts - that takes so much away from the two televised stories :slightly_smiling_face:

I think I have started another rewatch of the Classic series. I did not mean to do it, it just happened :joy:

Watching The Edge of Destructionnow.

Weird, this seems to happen a lot over here!

Tell us what you think about them in the Club Threads! Great way to give them a bump

I have already started in the first two. I have not been that active in the TV club before.

Just pressed play on “Mawdryn Undead” Part 1.

Such a jaunty tune when driving that car
Such a fancy bird hat
Brigadier!

As much as I love the Brigadier, Ian as originally written would have made so much more sense.

Have watched two episodes of The Daleks’ Master Plan so far.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart holding the Doctor at gunpoint was certainly not something I expected…

Four episodes in. Katrina is dead, and now the Brig’s been killed by Morgaine…

Started Marco Polo yesterday. This time I am watching it with telesnaps and the narrated soundtrack. I think that this is probably better than just the telesnaps that I used last time.

Starting the sixth episode of The Daleks’ Master Plan. Poor Bret. People consider Katrina a companion. People consider Sara Kingdom a companion. But no one considers Bret a companion…

I do, I do, I do :person_raising_hand::grin:

You can’t call Bret a companion and not Wilf…

Because he isn’t.

Exactly!

Just you watch me!
No I think Bret essential fulfills the exact same role as Sara Kingdom in Master Plan - the companion role.

I do like Wilf you know (how could I not), but he’s a more of a guest star than a companion in my eyes.

I know you like Wilf but you are wrong here. Wilf is essential to the story in the same way that Sara is.
