Yeah I’m trying to learn Spanish. There’s a book I want to read in the original text. Learning grammar and memorizing words are too boring so I turn to audiobooks for input

I’m listening to the audiobook with the Chinese text so I can figure out how Spanish sentence structure looks like

I got excited about Ace being in it but it was quite underwhelming to be honest.

I’d say that’s a great way to learn a language, because grammar and theory can be a bit boring!

I liked it. I think that it captured Ruby’s loneliness in a great way. I do not add that much too much to the story.

I just thought I’d check the ratings graph on TARDIS guide for MI and its interesting to note it really splits the vote. Two ratings at 2 and Two at 5 with a few more in the middle. Needless to say, my rating will be joining the lower end.

So, an accurate title then? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m not sure if that includes the user who completed everything and rated everything 5/5, or the user who rated everything they completed 5/5 with few exceptions (which are 4.5)

Oh yes I still need to deal with them :rage:

Oh yes, that’s true. Then it would seem my opinion so far isn’t hugely off kilter.

I’m one of those 2/5s. I just found it so boring and can barely remember any of it now.

I mean I feel bad for saying this considering his recent passing but making Frobisher, Glitz and Dibber boring is certainly an achievment.

McIntee’s books are a real conundrum for me. I either love them or find them hugely boring.

Some shameless PR, my friends debut novel is now out in paperback.

A handful of DWM comics and short stories today. I really liked Pathfinders, I thought it had a good melancholy feel

I finally finished Brandon Sanderson’s Warbreaker last night.

Next up is The Pit for the Book Club.

And then I’ll tackle a new book I’ve heard plenty of good ablut, the lit-RPG novel Dungeon Crawler Carl.

Ploughed on with Mission: Impractical last night. I’ll admit there were some fun references this time - a Drahvin and Taran android (both mercenaries) and a Wallace and Gromit gag about Frobisher wearing a rubber glove on his head as a disguise which did actually make me laugh out loud.

I read Blood Harvest today. I really, really enjoyed it, it’s got such an interesting mix of style and genre, and it’s really well written in my opinion. It’s been a while since a book has gripped me this much

Is it DW book? (sorry to have to ask)

Yes! It features the seventh doctor and is part of the Virgin New Adventure series, that were released in the nineties while the show wasn’t on air. It’s my first VNA actually. Though the way the characters are written, mostly from the point of view of an outsider, it’d work very well as a non-doctor who book too, minus the ending

Thanks Jae very much!

Five chapters into Divided Loyalties - Gary Russell made Adric’s BO canon and that’s all I need to be heavily invested in this novel. I like his prose style a lot so far, a non-formal and introspective style that carries Tegan as a POV character very well, even if the barely disguised loathing for Adric definitely comes from a far deeper place than just Tegan’s dislike.
