I have been doing Madhouse difficulty of RE7 for three days now. Most of this evening’s playtime has been me doing the same bit over and over and over again, getting better each time, but still dying each time.
This is the last bit before the final scene.
I have plenty of ammo and health items, the only problem is manoeuvring.
I need to stun these two big fellas, shoot three traps quickly, then stun them again and climb that ladder. That’s all.
And yet I keep dying. I’m almost embarrassed to see the death count at the end
HOPEFULLY I’ll do it tonight. If not, tomorrow evening.
Man this is such a hard difficulty! I’m usually someone who plays on easy, so this is a struggle for me. I’m not someone who’s great at aiming (or anything really)
Oh, I definitely play easy mode on things, cheese things, and grind out levels to get things to a level where I enjoy them. And I’ve also beaten Dark Souls 1-3 and enjoy them. I basically work around the things I’m not good at (or sometimes get better at them).
Of course, I also set myself restrictions sometimes. I’ve got a strange relationship with game difficulty…
I always do my first playthrough on easy, but I’m trying to platinum some of the games I love. I find it really chill and a nice way to unwind!
Granted I am getting a bit annoyed at dying over and over again, but you guys will probably hear me cheering when/if I finally complete this! It’ll be worth it!
Been playing Star Wars Outlaws lately, highly enjoying it. Just finished the first mission (retrieved the recipe for Crimson Dawn) and am now able to manually save. Need to sell my junk next, and then start the next mission.
Oh man. Two hours of save state abuse later, and I got the Metroid Prime 2 Echoes item loss skip essentially legitimately. Well, in speedrunning terms I guess it would be considered tool assisted, but I did it without cheats.
Thanks to the program Lutris (Ubuntu), for the first time in over a decade I’ve returned to Orbiter Spaceflight Simulator. It is quite intriguing and even addicting: you just get the ship and go. I’m using it to teach myself video editing, and posting some shorts on my tiktok.
For the programmers around, this sim have been opensourced since 2021, with a repository on Github and if anyone between the programmers also knows 3d modeling with Blender, it has always been possible to create custom ships, like this 2008 (and long outdated) TARDIS and Dalek addon (the old girl would be sad for living in a newtonian physics-only ruled universe ).
I bet that there are ships and stations from the Whoniverse that would be nice to add, or even the ships from The Expanse and For All Mankind.
Seven hundred years ago, the planet was rendered all but uninhabitable by a great catastrophe. What little remains of humanity ekes out a meager existence on top of a slowly decaying floating habitat, clinging to the legend of a paradise that could be woven by human hands – the land of Metafalica. Can you restore hope to this world that lost it long ago?
Ar tonelico 2 is a sci-fi epic featuring the power of Song, diving into the depths of the human psyche, and a fully functional constructed language. And, of course, wonderfully terrible women.
Unfortunately, the original English localization was a notorious mess. Its low-budget, mostly unedited translation was covered in terrible writing, egregious translation errors, wildly inconsistent characterization, and poor attempts at humor. It also introduced a number of serious gameplay bugs.
Accordingly, this patch, Project Metafalica 2.0, is a complete retranslation and remaster of Ar tonelico 2, the fruit of thousands of hours of translation, editing, and hacking effort. On a technical level it’s loosely based on the original Project Metafalica from 2016, but the script is completely rewritten from scratch based on the Japanese, and a huge number of technical fixes have been made, along with quality-of-life changes.
Didn’t realise they were redoing the fan retranslation.
I actually ended up going MelonPrimeDS for Hunters rather than the recompiled, it worked better. Wrapped up Echoes last night, with a horrible time of over 7 hours. I need to try the item loss skip run again with better, more planned out routing. On to Corruption.
Dread is great though, looking forward to giving it a second play.
