Mamma Davros???
I stand by it…
Calcula (or however you spell it)
I’ve never heard it.
You should!
(More people should be talking about Davros’ mother )
I am halfway through the second story out of four, and it is indeed excellent!
I am fairly certain it’s something you would enjoy as well
Are we talking about I, Davros? And some people haven’t heard it?!? Sort it now @monkeyshaver and @sircarolyn . It’s utterly brilliant. BF’s best mini-series spin off and a perfect little package.
If you like I, Claudius it’s basically that with Kaleds.
Yesterday’s drive home…Empress of the Drahvins. Didn’t need to be the Drahvins, really, but I rather liked that it was. A good, solid story, though I wish I remembered more about Ruth going into it.
And then, The Angel of History. This is a very sad story, beautifully presented.
And, well, that’s it. 277 stories, 362 discs, and I’ve finished listening to all the Who material that I have. It took me one year and one week, and it was quite a journey. So, what now?! Well, my friend is going to start bringing things from his collection, I told him to surprise me. I don’t know how much of that I’ll do, as there’s no way I can stay at my current job much longer, but I guess we’ll see. In the meantime, I may re-listen to Ready Player One or something. Time will tell. It always does.
I really do need to listen to it sometime. It was in one of the Humble Bundles I bought…
I really think we should do it in Audio Club Extra next to be honest.
Well if we do it on Audio Club I’ll definitely listen. I have had it downloaded on my phone for a while so the intent is there…
Just finished the second story of “I, Davros”.
It’s so, so good!
Mamma Davros!
Another 4,5/5
Just listened to the first story of the fugitive Doctor boxset! I didn’t really love it that much, and why did the Daleks turn up? There was no need!
The second story looks more interesting though
I agree with you there, the Daleks really didnt need to be in the story. When we already have the Division who could be chaaing the Doctor and (minor spoilers for the rest of the boxset) with the division feeling underused imo in the rest of the boxset using the Daleks just felt a bit pointless.
I love the idea of the Fugitive Doctor meeting the Daleks, but going in with that as a first story feels a tad quick for me.
Seconded. Utterly utterly magnificent (and very warped).
Much as I enjoyed all three of the first set of Fugitive Doctor stories, this is fair. The second story is much more interesting. The third is my favourite, however. So beautifully imaginative. Wonderful stuff. I really hope you enjoy!
That’s 3 chapters of “I, Davros” done.
It’s unbelievably good!!!
5/5
And there was a voice there I feel like I recognise from somewhere else… It might be the guy that voices the character that my phone wants to autocorrect to Marvin
I’m disappointed in your autocorrect Narvin >>>> Marvin
Autocorrect is so evil for that I had it all trained a few months ago but then there was some update and now it’s back to Marvin again
Just a +1 post that I, Davros is one of the very best spinoffs BF ever did, it’s extremely well-written and played! Haven’t listened in a very long time, but way back when I listened to it multiple times, that’s a great one.
I can’t remember which DVD release included the then-exclusive Big Finish coda to I, Davros as a digital extra, might have been Genesis or Revelation. That’s not something they did often, so to me that always indicated “I, Davros is so good it might as well be canon.”
