Going to listen to Old Soldiers (from the Companion Chronicles) and possibly start The Clockwise Man.
Finally getting around to Diary of River Song! I bought the first few in a sale a couple years ago and am just now getting around to them. Finished Series 1 and listened to the first story of Series 2. My favorites so far have been Signs and The Unknown.
I recently made my way through Neverland to Scherzo in the 8th Doctor’s stories. I’ve enjoyed most of them! Zagreus was interesting but too long. I appreciate it more after thinking on it after listening and reading more about it, but I needed Tardis Wiki to keep up with it!
Neverland was great. And Scherzo - I listened to that all in one sitting. It’s very, very good.
I hear Creed of Kromon isn’t good, but introduces a new companion, so I oughtta listen to it… I’m mentally preparing myself.
Also thinking I may start Missy Series 1 soon. I bought that recently on sale and I’m excited to hear it! Also got Gallifrey Series 1-3 so I’d like to try those too
making my way through BF’s adaptation of The Highest Science and realizing I might just have to actually commit to reading the VNAs i put it off for so long but the prophecy in the form of lyrics from a Rush parody band have won my heart
Read them along with us!
Listening to The Quin Dilemma at last and I am LOVING it. Colin deserves an award for his performances here.
Trying out The Eleven.
feeling bleh. time to listen to gallifrey again again again <3
Gallifrey is the cure for feeling bleh for sure
8 posts were split to a new topic: Advice on the Virgin New Adventures
I’ve just finished the Out of the Darkness anthology (6 & Peri) from Tales of the Tardis Vol 1 - & wow was the last story (Vigil) dark…! I wasn’t expecting that from such an early set. I’m on to the BBC short trips now & then probably back to BF
Part 1 of “Energy of the Daleks” on “Into the TARDIS”.
Can’t wait for part 2 in a weeks time
(I know it’s available on streaming but now I’m committing to Colin Baker’s podcast😊)
I was wondering what they would go for next and Tom Baker vs the Daleks seems like an obvious choice.
I thought the same. With the Master Elimination Game right now I am kind of hoping for stories featuring their own incarnations that I haven’t heard before. I love Big Finish but it can be quite an economic commitment for something you won’t know if you’ll enjoy if there are multiple box sets in a single story.
Just finished Torchwood Among Us
The finalie I felt was a little weak compared to most of the other stories across the 3 boxsets, but still solid, and the highs of the boxsets are so so high
Cuckoos is chilling, At Her Majesty’s Please is super fun, Colin Alone is Heartbreaking, Pariahs is such a good second act finalie
Ending being weak fits in with the TV series finales really.
To be fair it’s not bad, it’s just weak comparatively, I’d still give it a solid 7/10
I have listened to all of the Torchwood “Story Continues” sets except the last one. I feel they went a bit all over the place and I wasn’t really that impressed. If I listen to the last one I’d probably need a recap because I’ve forgotten a lot of it now
Just listened to “Broken Hearts” from the Eleventh Doctor Chronicles. Wow, that was amazing. I love Valarie!
Maybe we should bring this thread back to its topic we have other threads for books
This week, I’m planning on listening to the latest Fifth Doctor set as well as continue my Eighth Doctor marathon!
Yeah, I can split your book thread into its own thing if you like and you can continue the discussion there?
Just listened to the behind-the-scenes for The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: Broken Hearts and OMG, Jake and Saffy are so wonderful, their love for each other is palpable and it made me cry! I predict the ending of their series is going to rip my heart out and I am here for it
