Paused for dinner but will finish it later. Good stuff so far.

Well that’s unfair, Meryl Streep crushes literally everything she’s in lol

Invasion of the Body Stealers was the most okay story I’ve ever heard. Good performances and an alright plot, but Harmony Shoal really are just a bit disappointing as they were on TV despite how fun a premise physical body snatchers are. Sadie Miller is great as Sarah! First time I’ve ever heard her and she was fantastic!

After, I was enjoying The Queen of Clocks but I did wonder why it was reviewed so highly despite being just a fun time and not much more. But then that absolutely stellar ending. Stunning. Beautiful stuff that makes the rest of the episode better on hindsight! Fantastic story that felt right out of the early 6 monthly runs once the ball drops. With great performances from Baker and Langford as always!

Silence duology this weekend!

Just listened to Mr Pym Has An Adventure. Like all the Eternity Club stories it’s an absolute delight—Nickolas Grace is so excellent!

As for that ending… OH NO OH NO OH NO OH NO!!

Just finished the Magic Bullet run of Faction Paradox. A solid 4/5 across the board from me. Such a solid series.

Now back to catching up with the Monthly Range.

Listening to Gallifrey 2.2. But I will not share my thoughts until tomorrow.

Next I will relisten to once and future before listening to the new one.

In the Daleks’ defence - casual traditional Dalek stories can work well too. There is more going on them that I wouldn’t call them 100% traditional, but both Lucie Miller/To the Death and Masters of Earth are modern good examples of that. Even Enemy of the Daleks, to a extent, and the Fourth Doctor Adventures early Dalek stories.

The problem for me is - as it recently often is - too much time war. Tying the time war to the Daleks was the biggest mistake Moffat ever made because it made it much more boring, less creative and limited to Daleks conflicts we have seen a hundred times before. We already had a Dalek time war and it was enough. It’s called The Apocalypse Element.

Thank god the BBC lost rights to publish the Daleks during the EDAs so they never tied the War in Heaven to them too.

I listened to it too. I’ll return with deeper thoughts tomorrow, but I’ll say this!

IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!

I was on the edge of my seat (well, shoes, since I was doing some grocery shopping at the same time) all the time.

This is the awesome Gallifrey I have been promised!!!

@sircarolyn @BillFiler @realdoctor @deltaandthebannermen and all you others who have been hyping this series: I love y’all!

Oh, I agree. That’s why I said “Once in a while it can be GREAT!”. Those trad Dalek stories certainly have their place. The problem is when they’re overused because it takes the shine off.

Listened to Coda this morning, after reflecting on it I think I’d rank it third in Once and Future behind Genius and Artist. Solid story overall, and I’m excited to hear more of Jo Martin on audio.

Really Enjoyed Coda. Great debut for Jo Martin.

Really loved the send off for Queen Liz. Am I forgetting the War Doctors previous encounter with the villain or has it just not been shown yet?

I’m not sure how well The Memory Cheats comes across if you haven’t listened to, or don’t recall what happened in the previous Zoe Companion Chronicles. Fortunately, I’m listening to these things at a pretty decent pace, and I really like the direction this one goes in after what came before.

I also listened to the second Serpent Crest installment, The Broken Crown. Not as enamored with this one. Just not interested in the ongoing thread in this series, which doesn’t help, though the story is pretty decent and I rather enjoy Mrs. Wibbsey. The petulant child thing, though, is an annoying element that happens to rather a big part of it, so that kind of detracts.

My body clock is still out of whack. Woke up at 3am and now 5am. Ugh.

I listened to Coda last night and it was brilliant. I thought the “dart board” of characters was really fun. Can’t wait for more Fugitive Doctor audios.

I also have the special edition but totally missed in the bad app that there are even more extras, thanks @MrColdStream for pointing that out! I’ll listen to those too.

Started listening to Spirit but was too sleepy again. Got about half way. Gonna rewind and do it again later!! Excited.

I still have to relisten some of the Once and Future episodes till I get to Coda. It seems so long ago and I barely remember anything beside the basic premise :joy:

Yet somehow I’m listening to Spirit again. Poor Wynter :smiling_face_with_tear:

Listened to Broken Hearts a absolutely fantastic story, possibly one of my favorite 11th doctor stories ever. Follow’s on from the ending of Curiosity Shop where Valarie get’s to confront the doctor on what he did. Both Safiyya and Dudman gets lot of standout moments. Also has a B plot with some fun robots which ends up quite emotional by the end.
