Like a lot here I’ll be starting the first question shortly my first 11 doctor story apart from some of the destiny of the Doctor range that I started
I finished “Whatever Remains” (Paternoster Gang 3x2), 4/10.
After a great first episode, the third Paternoster Gang box set disappoints with a mystery plot that drags too much and was completely boring, all for it to end with a conclusion that feels like something out of Scooby Doo.
Jenny and Madame Vastra have problems in their relationship that I genuinely think is interesting and it was one of the things I liked the most in the audio, Strax has one or two good jokes but not much more.
All the characters in this story were flat and boring, everything about the Silurian artifact was boring as well. Same with the villain being a water chicken or something like that.
Going to listen to either the last Call me Master story or The First Question in a few minutes, haven’t decided which yet
I’m going to wait on The First Question and the new 12DAs until I get a vibe from you fine folks. It was hard for me to get on board with even the idea of Dudman for some reason, once I did I loved it, now I have loyalties to two different 11s haha. If people really love them I’ll for sure check them out, but I’m just not in a pre-order frame of mind for these particular recasts.
Started Red for Danger!.
Going with Reformation
I’m an hour into Benny #2: Beyond The Sun, which I wonder if they recorded first? It has that feeling, where you initially release one you recorded later (Oh No It Isn’t) because it feels a little more confident. This is really nostalgic though in terms of the acting style, especially the people playing Benny’s students, who kind of gamely mumble their way through their lines in a charmingly semi-professional way that really reminds me of the Audio/Visuals or even the first year or so of the main range. The sound design is best effort and really reaching, which again I find very charming. Sigh, oh that Jason Kane. A strange one so far, but in Lisa we trust, she makes everything more believable.
If I can tempt you, I just finished it and it’s one of my favourite things they’ve released since… Well, okay, Hooklight’s not that long ago, but I really liked it to say the least basically. And I know it’s just a few votes, but it’s probably the highest rated set on the site right now. It’s a completely different vibe from 7V, but it’s just as good as the Geronimo set (and I think I might even like it more).
Which also tells y’all what I’ve been listening to. I could honestly not be happier to see how much all the other people are enjoying it as well. It’s so nice to have something I was anticipating so much be able to overmeet the expectations.
I’m listening to Birdsong (on the second set of post-Stranded Liv and Helen stories) and I just started it but I’m never over this team and Liv and Helen are so much fun together!!
I just watched their little introduction video on YouTube and both Miles and Jasmine seem like delightful people.

I do not WANT this but I feel it in my marrow ![]()
Noooooo I won’t believe it until they do it. Just can’t
maybe they’ll wrap it up and Liv will decide to leave and Helen will just keep going or settle down in her own place of choice?
If this happens with no 8/Helen on their own era ever established, I believe I shall riot, yes I do believe I shall.
I almost asked what anniversary, which is hilarious because I was born a few months before the movie and I just turned 30 >_<
I just cannot see there being a universe where Liv is ever ever going to leave the Doctor without there being a huge tragedy. Helen dying and it’s Eight’s fault is the only thing that makes sense to me. Liv is a run away from her problems character and she famously hates the past and domesticity. She’s not going to willingly go back to 21st century Earth unless something has gone majorly wrong
I can see that, but there have also been a few hints that she’s quietly planning to not stay forever already, and I hope that’s the route they take
You are in no way wrong! Why, oh why couldn’t she just stay behind with Tania but like actually haha. This whole post-Stranded era might actually have had some kind of direction if it were 8/Helen only, Liv is one of my favorite characters in DW but I fear we absolutely have exhausted 8 & Liv stories, we have so many and so many good ones, it really is time to move on.
I mean I truly think Liv would be miserable with Tania on earth. I don’t think she’s cut out for that lifestyle and I think she’d go actually mad, no matter how much she claimed to love someone - though I also think Liv and Tania as a pair don’t work at all and I think it would be way more narratively compelling for their relationship to explode ![]()
But I agree, the post Stranded era stuff has been very directionless and ehhh
