Well, I had intended to spend today (as I have no plans this afternoon, until the evening) importing some more of the missing stories but since TARDIS Wiki is still down, I can’t really do that. So I’m checking off some todo items!
A few updates:
New Review Sorting Options
I’ve added the ability to sort reviews by word count
Also you can now sort by the lowest number of likes.
Updated Wilderness Years Filter
Did you know there is a filter for Release Date Range which has presets for the following eras: Classic Era, Wilderness Years, Revival Era, Modern Era?
I previously had “Wilderness Years” start after the TV movie was released, but now it starts straight after Survival.
Liking your own reviews
This was never possible but the UI made it look possible, which is almost as bad! Now the button is disabled! Don’t even try to click it! I’m talking to you!!
How To Watch: Confidential, Unleashed, Behind the Scenes
These slipped the net and the links weren’t showing, but they are now all back, including for Joy to the World.
The first new feature isn’t terribly exciting but it’s a prerequisite to lots more stuff in the future.
I’m making it easy to adjust the date that you completed something. This is so we can more accurately show you some lovely stats very soon (and you can fiddle with them to make them perfect, if you choose).
Patrons are currently testing what I’ve done so far and providing feedback
I just wanted to say that Tardis Wiki is mostly back up, and that we’re very sorry about the downtime. It could not have hit at a more inconvenient time with our main sysadmin ill, the other busy with real-life stuff and everyone else involved juggling it around Christmas and New Year’s Eve/Day celebrations.
Yes, that’s why I said “mostly”. The mirror should be completely functional for readers, it’s only most editing that’s currently disabled. We’re expecting to get fully functional again by Monday at the latest.
As I move closer each day to all-new stats, I am putting the pieces in place.
Yesterday I launched the ability to edit completion dates, and today I’ve created lots more Sets for the TV show so the stats can be much more granular.
So whereas before there was 1 set for Classic Who, 1 for Revival, and 1 for Modern, plus one for each Doctor, now we have sets for every single Season and Series.
What this means is on the Sets page you can sort and filter the sets and see which are the most popular or highly rated, and click into them to view overall ratings.
I’ll also be using these for each person’s stats page… and it will help with the revamped “repeats” feature… watch this space!
(I also did the reverse for Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures - as well as their per-series sets, I created overall sets for them, just for consistency).
I’m not sure. I just added one more. This was an import I did so I am relying on other people here to correct things I don’t even know who he is (apart from he’s obviously a Dalek killer…)
These are all his appearances on the site, which seems like a weird random selection? I don’t even know if we have all his comics? Or something went wrong.
If the set is supposed to include what is in that graphic novel, it should also include Star Tigers and Nemesis of the Daleks but they were reprints from DWM. Depends on what the set is based around.
Sorry, it’s rather late for my pedantry!
I’m loving all the sets. (I have a couple of other queries but I’ll save those… )
I’m not making more badges for these sets at the moment. Especially as some seasons have just a handful of episodes. I like the badges to be a challenge to earn
