I’ve just launched a brand new feature for everyone, “My Diary”.
Access it from your profile, or from the link under “My TARDIS”.
You’ve been marking items as ‘completed’, and the date you did that has been saved, but what about stories you completed before joining the site? Would you like a nice, organised list of everything and be able to (soon) view your stats by year?
You can now edit the dates you completed a story individually on the story page, or in your diary, or in bulk.
Anything you completed using the Bulk Complete feature will be placed in your “archive”, and you can either date them individually, or bulk edit them to set them to the “release date” if you know you completed them on the day they were released (e.g. TV episodes, comic stories).
It’s completely up to you if you use this feature, because it’s potentially lots of work, but if you enjoy keeping things organised then it’s perfect for you! Plus coming soon will be “Year in Review” stats and we want those to be as accurate as possible!
Please try it out and let us know if you have any questions. The Patrons have been testing it for a few days now, so they all know how useful it can be!
This is a nice feature. I will try to fix my bulk-completed classic Who ones with the help of the history function of Google Sheaths. But that is probably the only thing I will fix. I have seen Rose at least 10 times but have no idea when
I just finished setting all the New Who episodes as precise as I can remember! I love being able to see data like this, and I’m excited for what new stats this will allow!
The fun thing is that it feels that Google truly are covering all bases because they have services for everything. So Google Sheaths doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
I love that people here are as nerdy about stats as I am
I cross-referenced data from my Letterboxd account, and GoodReads, to try and make mine as accurate as possible.
I may need to tweak Series 1 because I didn’t watch it exactly on the air date, probably the next day as I was at uni and out partying on a Saturday night lol. But that might be taking it a bit too far. As long as the months and years are correct, the stats will still be interesting.
I’m thinking: how many stories you completed each year, each month, top months, maybe some details about streaks? (But no pressure on streaks, more like “this is the longest you’ve gone completing something new every week!”)
I don’t mind a streak. Would be fun! But we should also have an anti-streak, like “this is the longest you’ve gone without any Who. Are you getting a life now?”
Apparently there’s one year and four months between me watching The end of the world and The unquiet dead. For some reason i keep thinking it’s just those four months…
Trying to date everything from 2024, some of them are ballparks but I’m trying my best based on chat history with people lol. Anything earlier is going in the archive, I can’t remember when I watched most of these things…
A couple troubleshooting notes:
I’m a bit neurotic about the tracking feature, and often rate and then uncomplete stories to get the tracking panel on the main page right. There appears to be a second “Archive” section containing stories I completed/rated and then uncompleted…?
I’ve got two different calendar selection icons, and only the leftmost one works…! (using Waterfox on MacOS Sonoma)
I mean I rate stories and then uncomplete them which removes the rating and completed date, but updates it so that the set is at the top of my Tracked Sets list. I do this to futz with the order on that list. And indeed, right below the main “Archive” section is this other “Archive” section with the stories I’ve done that to but not actually marked completed yet:
I’ve having trouble with the diary. It keeps putting the episode as the wrong date and sometimes it doesn’t save. I’m trying to put the new episodes as the release date in the US and it keeps putting May 11 when I set it as May 10.
I’ve been using the ‘my saved stories’ feature to keep track of stories I own/intend to watch, and it looks like in some cases the date on the dairy is when I saved the story, not when I actually logged/rated it. It’s mostly effecting the classic who I’ve been watching, as I add it one season at a time so now it looks like I watched an entire season in a day. I’m not really bothered by this but thought I should probably point it out.
Ah ok you may have found an edge case here. I’ll look into that.
Oh that’s weird. What browser are you using please?
Yes that’s a known bug that was there for a while but I fixed it at Christmas. It won’t happen again, but it may have been a problem because it didn’t correctly log when you actually completed it. Sorry about that!
