Updates on "The War Between the Land (Parasites) and the Sea (Devils)"

Why not have a thread where we can talk about the upcoming spinoff coming to BBC and Disney+ ? :slightly_smiling_face:

There has just been a cast announcement on doctorwho.tv, with two additional characters joining “Not Midshipman Frame”, “Not Tish Jones”, Kate Stewart (Lethbridge optional) and Colonel Ibrahim:

“Additional cast joining the series include Ruth Madeley, returning in her role from the 60th Anniversary specials as UNIT Scientific Advisor Shirley-Anne Bingham; and Colin McFarlane, reprising his role as General Austin Pierce from Torchwood: Children of Earth.”

More Shirley
And the General from Children of Earth? Now there I am a bit intrigued :slightly_smiling_face:

I was really happy to see Ruth in the photo RTD posted on Instagram, glad it’s confirmed.

I am really excited for this show and hope it becomes a recurring spin-off. More UNIT!

Very intriguing re: General Pierce. Torchwood seeping back in?

If we ever see Gwen again I think I will cry tears of joy! :face_holding_back_tears:

Brining back General Pierce is very interesting. The presentation of Unit in the show has changed a lot since CoE and I can’t really see someone who was okay with sacrificing 10% of earths kids fitting into Kate’s version of Unit.

I’m guessing he won’t be part of UNIT but will be part of the UK government’s resistance to the Sea Devils.

I’m right there with you my friend
Eve Myles is just the best thing about Torchwood

My one worry with a return of Torchwood to the show is that it will de-canonise the Big Finish stuff

There is no canon, it’s all timey wimey.

I’m definitely interested to see if we’re getting a more morally grey UNIT

I really hope so
