It was suggested that I come here to share an introduction, so here it goes. My name is Aidan and I have been a Who fan for about 25 years.
I have an unusual path into Who Fandom. I am one of the few people who started with the Death Comes to Time webcast. From there I watched The Androids of Tara and picked up both DVDs that were available. And from there? I leaped into Big Finish, picking up everything that was available, catching TV repeats on UK Gold whenever they were on, picking up all the DVDs, and reading the BBC novels range.
Extended universe materials have always been important to me. Keeping track of what I have read and listened to has been a challenge. I had been trying to make my own spreadsheet but stumbled onto TARDIS Guide earlier this week, leading me here.
In terms of my taste, in terms of TV I am particularly fond of the first two Doctors but I find something to enjoy in each era. The era I feel most tied to overall though is the Eighth Doctor on audio. I regard McGann as my Doctor because those stories were the ones that truly made me into a fan. His Doctor’s embrace of ‘the spirit of adventure’ was infectious and I loved that I was discovering something new at the same time as everyone else.
Anyway, I am glad to be here and I look forward to using this site to inspire me to revisit stories and read others’ takes on them.
This is amazing! So cool that something that attempted to bring new people in and then fell flat did actually succeed somewhere! And I thought I was unusual for having The End of Time Part Two as my gateway!
My favorite TV companion is probably Steven or Jamie. I have recently been revisiting the Fifth Doctor era prompted by the Season 21 boxset and have been surprised how much I am enjoying Strickson’s performances as Turlough. Belinda and Bill are other, more recent, favorites.
In other media, I really loved Evelyn and Charley.
Edit: I forgot to confirm, yes - that image is from the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book (a prized possession of mine and I have cooked a number of the recipes from it over the years)
Welcome to the forum @uk2ga - great to have you here. Glad you stumbled upon TG - it is Doctor Who fandom’s best kept secret but we’re always happy when new people discover us.

Ah, welcome in! UK Gold repeats were where I did a lot of my Who watching back when I was younger. Glad to see another person so enthusiastic about this franchise on the forum!
