been watching high potential with my sister (very slowly) - it’s pretty good so far, in some ways it feels more like sherlock holmes than anything else. we finished the orville recently and adored it, really really hoping that there will be more of it
Grandmother! She’s not old enough! (I know she actually is but she’s forever Benny’s mid 30s in my head).
Well, considering that Shauny is old enough to be a grandfather, Bowerman should be old enough to be a great-grandmother…
I watched a short film Colin was in about a decade ago for the first time (the production company finally made it viewable online) and it was so good! Very heartfelt.
He played a lonely grandfather who encourages his grandson’s love of history, and together they dig for some of Richard III’s artifacts. I’m so glad I could watch it!
What’s it called? @peribrown may be interested.
Finding Richard. It’s on Vimeo.
Just watched the second episode of the new series of Black Mirror.
I thought it was really great!
And then afterwards I read this which is absolute genius by Netflix:
(Spoilers for the episode in the link)
Awesome PR job Netflix (spoilers)
Black Mirror gaslights viewers by releasing subtly different versions of Bête Noire | Radio Times
Watched the first one last night.
That was cheerful…
Oh yeah the first one was miserable, because it was just like real life.
I need to find the time to watch the new Black Mirror!
New episode of the Last of Us, and boy it’s a good one
The thing that every person that has played the game knows happened this episode. I suspect that Joel might still be alive, I saw the slightest movement, but that might just be the actor doing it and not intentional, one can dream . The addition of the Jackson siege was a great touch. Showing that the infected are still a major threat, and that they might be getting smarter by using their own dead as insulation against the cold.
Overall a fantastic episode, and I can’t wait for the rest. Everyone please send positive vibes to Kaitlyn Dever who is about to receive a lot of hate .
Same here! Fantastic episode!
I thought they were going to wait a few more episodes to get to that …
Strange feeling, jumping into such a bleak, dramatic and gritty show after being super immersed in DW for the last few months. Put the weird thought in my head of whether the Doctor would have Joel-ed his way through the Fireflies to save a companion…
Haven’t started the season yet but I swear I read ages ago S2 was only going to cover like… a small part of S2, with S3 being Joel’s death? I’m pretty surprised it happened so soon.
Nah, they just said TLOU2 would cover 2 seasons. Initially people suspected the story would be split like the game so season 2 would focused on Ellie, and season 3 would focus on what Abby was doing at the same time, but they’re doing both at the same time. I suspect that TLOU2 is just so big it’ll need both seasons, but I have no idea where the split will be.
I’m just finishing up Life on Mars, then I’ll move on to Ashes to Ashes. I do love both series, even if I think that Ashes does meander a bit.
Finished this yesterday. It was an okay thriller. I think that the first episodes were better than the end, but overall a soft recommend from me.
My wife and I started watching Lost from the beginning. It’s all on Netflix currently. She’s watched it all before (many times; she used to own the DVDs back in the day) but I’ve only watched two or three seasons. I know how it all ends though, unfortunately.
The first season is amazing! But if she likes Lost, then she likes sci-fi! Doctor Who next!!!
I don’t even think she would consider it sci-fi, even though it has sci-fi elements. It’s more of a mystery show.
It is kind of mild sci-fi in the early season, but by the end, it is very sci-fi!
