TV Time - (but not Doctor Who)

Realised that we hadn’t watched the new series of Dave Gorman’s Modern Life is Goodish - so watched the first one tonight. Utter genius! We saw him live at our local theatre a few years ago when he was trying out material for one of the previous series - so funny.

TWELVE FINGERS!

Agreed entirely! I feel no shame in enjoying watching children’s shows, like I’m genuinely sad I have to wait for more dubbed Pokémon episodes atm because I really love that show despite being 20 years older than its demographic

I’ve been making my way through The Morning Show and just watched Season 2, Episode 3. The COVID stuff does a great job at highlighting how ignorant people were about COVID before it left China and became a worldwide pandemic.

Finished the first episode of Sherlock to see if it interested me. I like the premise but I didn’t like some of the editing choices. I don’t know if I want to go and watch another episode but I do find it interesting.

Also, I finished my rewatch of Severance season 1 a few weeks ago and finished it before season 2 ends which is what I wanted to do.

Alright just finished watching the Severance S2 final HO BOY, they knocked it out of the park, I’ve had my issues with S2’s pacing a bit all over the place, but it was all worth it for this episode, initially I predicted that the numbers would relate to a person’s thoughts, but I never made the connection that they were Gemma’s specifically. I’m not entirely sure of Lumon’s goals atm, from what we know they want to remove all emotion and thus pain, initially I suspected they wanted to create a secret sleep soldier based on those cards from S1, but idk anymore. I can sympathise with Innie Mark not wanting to essentially die, and fearing that his personality will essentially be overwritten by Outie Mark’s after reintergration, it was also a real bad move on OMark’s part to downplay IMark’s love for Helly and act like OMark’s love for Gemma is worth more. Cobel is still an engima as always, I believe she was genuine when she said she cares for Mark, but for why, I have absolutely not idea. As for the ending, it was great, and I have absolutely 0 idea where S3 will go with this, but I can’t wait :grinning:

There is my wall of text, I couldn’t be bothered with proper formatting because I just wanted to get my thoughts out while they’re still fresh, if anyone hasn’t seen Severance, you really should check it out.

I really hated Mark S at the end, he could’ve just told Gemma he was severed??? Idk that bit annoyed me. It was great asides from that, and I just love how c*nty Cobel is :sob:

It’s quite a tough situation, I feel really bad for IMark since he was basically given the choice between saving a woman he doesn’t love, and then basically dying from his perspective, or doing nothing and dying anyways. Ultimately he went with the middle option of saving Gemma, but staying behind with Helly, which tbh can’t say I wouldn’t do the same, OMark really dropped the ball getting IMark to trust him. Also I assume IMark didn’t know that Gemma didn’t know he was an innie, or just assumed IMark told her, but yeah Gemma got dealt a real sucky hand and is the real victim of all this

IMO I really don’t care for Mark/Helly’s relationship, I like them both but I don’t ship them as much as I’ve seen ppl on Twitter do. The reunion with Gemma was just amazing. I NEED more Cobel in S3

Cobel easily shot up to most interesting character after her solo episode, I still don’t think she’s an ally and is only helping out Mark and co because their goals align, but what Cobel’s goals are is still anyone’s guess.

I just finished catching up with the last 3 episodes of Severance season 2 and I’ve never felt more tense in ages when I watched the finale. Every single second was nerve racking. The moment where OMark told IMark about his grief with Gemma was heartfelt and emotional. I cried when they reunited. I thought he would go with Gemma instead of sticking with Helly so I was extremely shocked when he didn’t. Poor Gemma. Also why is Milchick still siding with Lumon after everything they did this season?

I think it’s a mixture of sunk cost and fear, he’s already come this far, and as far as he’s aware everything ends after Cold Habour so I suspect he was hoping to get it done, then get out with a nice cash bonus. Lumon has also been shown to just make people disappear, so I imagine Milkshake isn’t looking forward to a life on the run.

I think the seeds of rebellion are being planted and have started to sprout, but Lumon indoctrination is a strong one.

I’m currently on my third rewatch of Frieren - Beyond Journey’s End. Initially, I hesitated to start watching, thinking it wasn’t quite my cup of tea. I’m so glad I finally came around. The first few episodes are not just brilliant, but truly special. Later on, the series becomes more ‘mainstream,’ but it still retains something unique.

As it resonates so strongly with me, I assume the series will hit different people in different ways. That said, if you have some time, I strongly recommend giving the first three or so episodes a try. :slightly_smiling_face:
