Adolescence is the best TV I’ve seen in ages.
Currently watching Tempting Fortune. Hilarious watching Imani buying all of the temptations and lowering the prize pot.
We’re watching Jonathan Creek’s second episode ‘Jack in the Box’ and it’s got Maureen O’Brien, Bernard Kay, Robin Soans AND Geoffrey Beevers! Positively brimming with Doctor Who stars!
Feel like the Lena and Bonnie show could use one of those “This program is presented as originally created and may contain stereotypes or negative depictions.” warnings on it…
For those who want to get some of the experience without actually watching it…
And part two.
Of course, the real question, now that I’ve finished, is whether there’s a badge for watching all of Lena & Bonnie…
And for getting a song stuck in your head
Just started a rewatch of There She Goes because I realised we never watched the 2023 special but wanted to rewatch everything leading up to it. A really funny show with a tragic centre. David Tennant and Jessica Hynes are astonishing and the boy playing their eldest son is superb in what is an extremely difficult role to pull off. And the actress playing their daughter is amazing. A really honest examination of parents of children with special needs.
Made it through 3/4 of this tonight. Really great stuff.
Starting OMITB S4.
Enjoy - thought it was a cracker - mainly because it gives Jane Lynch some awesome stuff to do.
She’s great, love her work with Christopher Guest.
Latest episode of Tempting Fortune on in my house. The only show on TV where one person eating cheesy chips is a declaration of war against the others in the competition.
Oh I loved Space Precinct! It was weird how many actors are dubbed in the early episodes though.
Meant to say yesterday that my 13 year old daughter was watching episodes of Bluey. Yes she’s 13 but as a family we’ve become rather fond of the series. It is as good as people say it is and well worth your time even if you haven’t got pre-school kids.
We watched an episode called Bus yesterday. I laughed so much I was actually hurting. The writing is astonishingly clever for what’s ostensibly for the under fives.
I’m not ashamed to admit I love children’s shows. I’ve written a number of Doctor Who crossovers with some of my favorites. I like how they don’t feature any extreme negativity and everyone gets along for the most part. The Sixth Doctor/Colin has a personality that fits into so many children’s shows, and I wish Colin would have starred in more than he had.
I think that’s the magic of Bluey, it’s an all ages show dressed up as a young kids show, I’m quite fond of it. I’ve heard people describe it as a parenting show and I have to agree, it has good lessons. Unfortunately ever since Bluey has become popular the rate at which I get random DMs from people asking if xyz thing from Bluey is a real thing in Australia, the answer is yes, it’s always yes, we’re just weird people.
