Time Lord Victorious

I’ll make a badge for people that write guides for the site, then Tian will be compelled to do it

If you do add a badge I will do it, but I think I want to do it anyway. Feels like a nice way of summarizing everything when I am done.

One comment does not a thread derailing make

I have the non-VR version and I quite like it. The Weeping Angel level is proper scary and I’ve done the VR version of that bit too and that was ■■■■■■■ terrifying!

I haven’t played the game for a while though - I got to the Dalek level and haven’t gone any further.

Fair enough. I wasn’t necessarily trying to hijack things. It was also partially a “hey, we’ve got threads on this kind of topic that haven’t been touched in a while, let me remind you of them”. Sorry if I overstepped.

The Edge of Reality

Video Game
Started playing this on my Nintendo Switch. Played two chapters. But it is laggy and bad and frankly not fun at all. Decided to watch a playthrough of the rest of the game on YouTube. Looked a little better when played on better hardware but still not a good game. The game gets 1/5 from me. But you are not here for my thoughts on the main game. You want to hear about the TLV stuff. Well watched that as well. It is that you get to replay the main game but when you play it you have to look for 8 new collectibles. When you have found them you get to play a trivia game in the 10th Doctor TARDIS where you match sound clips with the stuff you found. That is it. You get nothing for being right. This does not progress the TLV story at all and as a part of TLV I give it an even lower rating of 0.5/5

Next up: still reading the second novel with only a couple of chapters left.

Thank you for playing the TLV part of this game, so I don’t have to struggle through it again just to be disappointed at the mediocre content of it.

Everything about this game was just a massive letdown. It makes me very sad, because I was so excited to play it.

All Flesh is Grass

Novel
I liked this novel more than the first one. It was fun to have all three Doctors together and interact with each other. I feelt like she brought the uniqueness of each doctor.

The story of this book more or less ends the TLV story and I think that it is a fun read and it brings in a lot of stuff from the whole event.

One problem I had was sometimes it could be a bit confusing what Doctor was doing with which side character and I sometimes had to go back and re-read some sections because of that.

I think that the ending felt a bit rushed and I am looking forward to the stories that follow the aftermath of the events of this book. 4/5

Mutually Assured Destruction

Big Finish
Might have been the weakest audio of the whole event. Not because the story was that bad but because I don’t find it enjoyable when Daleks talk for 60-70% of the run time. That is not how you use them. 3/5

I actually found this one the most fun of the McGann TLV audios.

It was not bad. I just find that the Daleks get boring to listen to after awhile.

Exit Strategy

Short Story
I found this to be the most enjoyable of this set. I like that the Dalek Strategist is a bit sassy. 3.5/5

Echoes of Extinction

Big finish
We are now more or less out of the TLV arc and the Tenth Doctor has learned his lesson. This story was okay but thay but the best part was at the end when The Tenth Doctor apologized to his past self for what he will have to deal with. 3.5/5

Next up: The Guide I am following has four different epilogues with stories in them. Which of them I begin with depends on what kind of medium suits best.

Oh I hate Dalek dialogue scenes on audio - I always zone out!

Epilogue 1 - Ten’s Final Days

This epilogue contains stories on what happened to Ten after the events of TLV. Non of these stories are part of TLV but is a nice way to finish the story.

The Shattered Hourglass
Big Finish
I liked this story. It shows a Doctor who tries to save a Galaxy that the time agency has time-locked away. 4/5

End of Time
TV
What can you say about Ten’s final adventure that has not been said before? I will just give my rating. Part 1: 4.5/5 and Part 2: 4/5

Next up: one of the three other epilogues. They will contain new TLV stuff.

I could probably say a couple of things

That was one of the reasons I chose not to :joy:

Each to their own. I love it, but then I also love Return To Earth, and that game would probably give the Angry Video Game Nerd a heart attack.

Epilogue 2 - The Dalek Survivor

Genetics of the Daleks
Big Finish
The last audio drama of TLV. It is a much more interesting Dalek drama with the fourth Doctor. Daleks are always most interesting when they are by themself. I would have liked more connections to the event but it was good. 4/5

A Dalek Awakens
Escape Hunt
Is not available longer and never was in my country…

Is no longer available. But I am very jealous of everyone who did this. Sounded fun.

Believe me you’re not missing out on this one… The best part about the EH DW escape rooms was working for them and running the rooms because the ‘plot’ was thin and the puzzles were… fine, I guess
