The Doctor and Jo visit a remote Russian outpost in 1890, the paradise world of Paratel and the frozen moon of Dorix, encountering a creature torn between dimensions and a genocidal stratagem devised by the Daleks.
As she continues her second TARDIS odyssey, Jo Jones is loving every moment of it. Mostly.

The Planet Killers by Andrew Smith (2 parts)
Arriving on the tranquil world of Paratel, the Doctor and Jo quickly discover that they’ve landed in the middle of events involving planetary destruction, ruthless exploitation of minerals, slavery and betrayal. A merciless Dalek plan is in motion, and the struggle to defeat them will cost many lives.
I thought The Beasts of Sakhalin Island was a bit of a mess but the final 20 Minutes really managed to pull the story around for me. I am so happy to see my comfort tardis team again and i am excited for The Planet Killers.
The Beasts of Sakhalin Island was fine, but nothing extraordinary. I preferred the first part, I think the concepts were solid but for a 4 parter it wasn’t as fully fleshed out as I wish it had been.
Not bad, but not the best 3DA we’ve had. The weakest since Quintessence when I started raiting them.
The first one was very consistent and enjoyable, but I just never really got drawn in or that invested over its 2 hour runtime. And story 2 was a rather run of the mill Dalek one. Both felt just bellow an average score imo.
Certainly some interesting concepts in The Beasts of Sakhalin Island, but it dragged on for far too long and doesn’t quite manage all of its subplots well. If this was about half an hour shorter and spent more time establishing its characters, this could’ve been brilliant, 6/10
