The CD versions of this are now officially out of print. It’s download only now.
It’s weird but every other ‘anniversary’/special release I’ve gone out of my way to preorder - I don’t do that with any other BF releases but nothing about this made me feel I needed to have a CD copy of it.
Not even sure I’ll bother with the download unless we find out it is different enough from the original to be noteworthy.
I honestly don’t see the point of this reissue. To my non-audiophile ears, the original audio didn’t sound bad, so I don’t understand why a remaster was needed.
I’ve actually pre-ordered this one. First time in ages I’ve got something from BF directly. I really like the original Sirens, so an updated version was one I couldn’t pass up. A few £ to fill out a physical collection was worth it for me.
It is a bit rougher with transitions, sound levels etc than a modern release. Also, it is a re-edit too. Plus, it’s a fun anniversary thing.
The re-edit is a little interesting to me, but the bigger draw is the interviews.
From some BF Podcast notes:
The Sirens of Time Redux is delayed temporarily due to issues with the special edition packaging.
I wonder if this photo is in that collection of photos?
(Also, is that real? With the cassettes as well??!)
It’s from the official BF account on Twitter.
I did post the source!
I meant it more as an incredulous reaction - I hadn’t realised it was getting that sort of limited edition treatment. Still wouldn’t have bought it though.
That set looks cool. Too bad those aren’t never-before-seen pictures, though.
One of the ones in this thread is pretty exclusive…
Nah, I’ve seen that photo of you before!
A release date has been Tweeted! Next week Tuesday, apparently. /g
Also: that second one is mine! Long ago now, 2019. /g
It’s always interesting to see people’s thoughts on my artwork - it does fascinate. I did do another cover two years later if anyone would be interested in that. /g /lh
That’s excellent too. Very talented!
Thank you indeed! /g /pos
I love how you’ve blended the backgrounds of all their opening titles together. Subtle but brilliant.
Thank you! The titles get used for a lot of anniversary releases, so I figured I could use them there - seemed fitting. /g /pos
