I can see from the spreadsheet that it’s ready to be imported over ![]()
Any chance of the short story The Doctor on Mars with Audrey and Ayn from the DWM 50 Years of the Fourth Doctor special being added?
Are these stories on Tardis Guide? I can’t find them anywhere
All of the reprints are (A Fresh Start is there as Eve of War). The two original stories and the audio versions aren’t.
Wasn’t quite able to glean the consensus from this thread, but I’d totally be down for having that sort of thing on the site - people can always skip it, and it’s easier to defend than the Sock Puppet Theatre stuff from where I’m standing. ![]()
Inshallah one day the list will be complete ![]()
I have a friend who recently joined and is keen to log Martha’s MySpace blog - do we have that one yet please? I’d love to see more of the tie-in “in-universe” websites, they’re really just humble versions of the online games :)
Tie-in websites have been discussed at length but are currently on the backburner for a variety of reasons.
Have these ever been suggested?
This is what they look like (and they’re not all just retellings of TV episodes - a lot of them are original ideas it seems).
I’ve never seen them.
Happy to add if someone does a spreadsheet ![]()
I’ll do the spreadsheet
- just wanted to check we’d class them as ‘stories’.
They’re very slight, but since they’re (mostly) original I’d say they pass the “is it more of a story than Sky Ray?” test.
What’s the intended manoeuvre with the recons please? I see that the Tenth Planet recon is listed for as the missing episode specifically; if I watched the recon, should I log both it and the original, even though that sort of doubles up episode four? I only ask because it’s slightly different to the early animation listings, where the existant episodes seem to be included. ![]()
(Oh, btw, re: the Aztecs recon, is this the same as the abridged one included on the Aztecs special edition? I suspect not because it’s a dash longer - any chance we might get that at some point please?
)
Well, I’m not sure exactly. This is why it took so long to get the recons up, because I’m not sure how people will interact with them ![]()
What do you think @deltaandthebannermen ?
For what it’s worth, on this user’s end, I think including existant episodes on a recon listing makes things simpler, unless you were planning on setting it up so you can select the “version” for each part.
I have matked multiple things as completed when I have watched animentions mixed with real episodes or listened to the narrated audio with the recon at the same time.
I’m not sure I understand the question but I’ll try to explain how I see it.
I see this as a personal choice, if I’m honest. When I watched the animation of Abominable Snowmen last week I marked it complete. I also marked the original story as complete because I watched the existing episode and that’s all that exists. I’m not (aside from a miracle recovery) going to ever see the original so any way I experience the story is a ‘rewatch’ as far as I’m concerned.
The information on some of the recons is purely for the facts. There are reconstructions for just episodes 2 and 3 of The Ice Warriors for example as oppose to the full recon for something like The Macra Terror. The info is there to must make clear if a recon is the full story or specific episodes.
This way you can rate a reconstruction or animation or soundtrack on its own merits divorced, if you so wish, from the actual story itself. The reconstruction of The Power of the Daleks, for example, is excellent as it marries the existing clips really well with the telesnaps. The reconstruction of the third and fourth episodes of Planet of Giants is an intriguing curiosity. The 30 minute recon of Marco Polo or the truncated episodes 2 and 3 of The Ice Warriors are probably not going to be many people’s highest rated.
What Aztecs recon are you talking about? Do you mean the Galaxy 4 one? If so that’s the official one on the animation DVD. The one on The Aztecs isn’t really a recon as it just tops and tails the existing episode 3 if I remember but I could have completely misremembered and if it’s signficant we could add it to the site.
Gah, sorry, yes, Galaxy 4, got my wires crossed. Yes, the G4 one on the Aztecs special edition.
It’s abridged, but only by the tiniest amount - it comes to about ~65 minutes, as opposed to the ~72 mins of the currently-listed recon, so I’d personally count that as close enough to be a “proper” one. :)
I love this section of the story pages:
Just curious, but do we have the audiobooks for all of the novels/novelisations on the site? Or all the recons if, say, LC did more than one?
Separate question: I read earlier in the thread that the rest of the BF library might be in the works as additions to the site, which I would love to see. Is that still a possibility?
