Every year I like to focus my December listening/reading/watching on Christmassy Doctor Who stories. Over the last few years I worked through all the TV specials, most of the Christmassy audios and a lot of the Christmassy short trips.
So this year, I’ll probably go back and revisit some, especially on audio.
With Advent upon us this weekend, I thought we’d have a thread (here in the cross-media section) for people to share their Christmas-themed watches, listens and reads.
To start off I read A Klytode Christmas from DWA which was quite a fun read and a good way to start of my Advent.
I think I’ve still got a few of the stories from this anthology to listen to:
And I think I may well give this a re-listen this year as it’s been a while:
I always make time to listen to ‘O Tannenbaum’ during December. This Short Trip is very much my favourite Christmassy audio from Big Finish. It’s a nice, fairly gentle tale featuring a snow covered log cabin in the woods. Basically, it’s the Big Finish story that Bob Ross could have painted.
I love Peter Purves’ narration, which I always find inexplicably comforting (though I suspect it’s something to do with childhood memories of watching him present Blue Peter).
