I’m super allergic which is why I don’t have too much exposure to cats. But I’m a huge pet person. It’s entirely possible I was hasty in my dislike. I want one now.
Seriously though, that can be so annoying. My father-in-law loves cats and he would like to have one, but he’s very allergic so it’s not an option. He always takes antihistamines when my in-laws come over to visit, or he would not be able to stay inside with our two cats for very long.
We need a TARDIS guide cat! One who is for all of us. He could be called Woolsey!
Possibly not an option depending on just how allergic you are, but there are certain cat breeds that are less likely to produce allergic reactions! Balinese cats or Devon Rex for example produce less of the protein in their saliva that the reaction is in response too, so some people who are otherwise allergic do not react to these
Good to know, thank you! I’m going to go see an allergist and mention them. Like with dogs there’s breeds that are better, too. I have a labradoodle and rarely upsets my allergies unless I really rub my face around him, so maybe there’s an acceptable level with cats. I’ll ask around.
Be careful with that, we wanted a small breed, he was so tiny when we got him. Now he’s a 50 lb Australian labradoodle with infinite amounts of energy and loves tackling, hugging, and watching paw patrol (they’re smart enough to know how to get the remote from you and turn on the TV). I’ll take pics sometime.
Cassey is so cute. But oh nooo hopefully that doesn’t become a habit. Are they just shredding or eating? I feel like shredding is just cats being adorable-evil.
Yeah, she’s just shredding, thankfully. We watch her carefully to ensure she does not eat them. Plus it’s not a habit, she does it like once a month, I think? That was the second time we caught her doing this
Well if you need somewere to put them, I tried creating a general pet pictures thread a while back. It didn’t really gain much popularity, but it exists, all the same
