I don’t think I’ll ever understand the complaints around how show’s are released if an audience has a choice. With the situation you cite, a viewer can choose which way they prefer to watch it so what’s the issue. If it’s about spoilers/discussion etc, then you just have to have the willpower to avoid those things till you’ve caught up. I’ve been in that situation numerous times - I’ve always survived. I think FOMO is a modern ill.

I don’t think they’d do it all in one go. I wouldn’t be surprised if RTD ends up going to his local cinema again to watch the finale

I’m not far off your standpoint tbf - it wouldn’t bother me. But I do also enjoy weekly momentum and build up to a finale, especially with a show like Doctor Who.

For me it’s the autism I really struggle with this and idk it feels just like the non-American audience is an afterthought with Disney Who. I moved to France just before the 60th so when S1 came around its 1am every week and I just have to watch live.

Yeah, I know we’ve had this conversation before and I totally get that (sorry if I was a bit dismissive). I still don’t agree that the scheduling favours the US (and I know some US members have pointed out how it really doesn’t do that anyway).

No dw it’s okay! I’ve seen different opinions on the matter elsewhere but yeah is what it is. I don’t expect it’ll be this way forever thankfully.

I would be shocked if they ever did it, not because I am necessarily against it (although I think it’s a stupid idea), but because it makes really no sense.
Streaming has shifted, if you release your Show weekly you have a higher Chance of Word of Mouth/Speculation getting newer Viewers interested. And while one could still exist, it’s usually getting higher since you have people talk about it every week and not just a few days before the Interest dies down naturally.

I do think the Chances of Who ever getting released all at once is almost non-existing if I am being honest, besides Netflix, not many Services seem to be interested in putting a season all at once. And even Netflix splits their Seasons these days, often.

In terms of the ā€œMidnightā€ Release, I do hope it won’t be the Standard forever going forward, but only time will tell with that one.

I wish I could react with a ā€œ:pray:ā€ emoji

Countries doing anything to favor the US is unlikely in the near future, I think.

Though I’m on the side that it didn’t really favor the US anyways. Especially since the US has multiple timezones.

Honestly, they probably just schedule it to be released the next day, and the day changes at midnight, so that’s when it appears.

Wow this got super off-topic.

So, how about Susan Twist??

Do you think we’ll see any other incarnations of her, seeing as there’s one on every planet?

Apologies

To answer your question, nope. I imagine she’ll just be working with UNIT now, along with the other lot who sit around in that grey set tapping away at computers :eyes:

The Doctor will nearly die in an episode, and then it’ll turn out it’s because he drank tea she made at UNIT at the beginning of the episode…

No, I don’t think so. Remember all the Clara Splinters? If I had to guess, this Aspect of EoD will never be brought up again, besides maybe your odd BF or Comic Release.

I’m still baffled it only got announced on FB and Insta. Nothing from RadioTimes or the official website or Twitter (which they were active today!). Bizarre!!

The big telly suddenly glitches:

SUSAN TWIST

It crackles and glitches again:

SUSAN T-WIST

And again:

SUSAN TEA WITCH

Random side character: It was the wrong anagram!
Kate: Uh… again, that’s not how anagrams work.
RTD: (glaring from behind the camera)
Kate: Sorry.
Susan Twist: Yes, I am the Tea Witch! I have poisoned you all.

Murray Gold blares over the scene as the episode tells us to be shocked and excited, and that it’s all getting very dramatic. Cut to titles.

Admittedly, I was thinking Sue Tea Kill, so close.

Though, again, don’t think it’s Sue’s fault, she’s just bad at making tea. To the point that it’s poisonous to time lords, apparently.

There was talks of one of the Space Babies being back in the finale, so I guess she could return as Gina Scalzi but… eh, I dunno.
