Ah - right. I shall have to tell my wife.

Wait. Is me saying something is one of my favorites a good sell for Delta? I mean, I don’t like Balance of Terror.

I would love Lady Gaga as a guest star.

(Honestly, they should’ve brought her in for the musical episode…)

Quite enjoyed the second episode of SNW and I can tell my wife is warming to it. Uhura was great in this episode.

Yeah, I like that they gave her a character focus episode, and that’s one thing I definitely like that they do in SNW. Not saying all the characters get this; there’s one character in particular that could’ve used more character time. But a lot do, and they seem to like giving more depth to characters that didn’t get nearly as much time as they should have in TOS.

I also really like Pike as a captain.

Yes, I’m liking him too. Ortegas is fun too.

Yeah, they’ve generally got a pretty good cast, overall. I rather enjoy their take on Chapel, and quite like Hemmer.

I do remember that later in the season, you’ll get to see a dog in an episode that is actually the pet of the actor who plays La’an, Christina Chong. (Who also played Lorna Bucket in “A Good Man Goes to War”…)

Yes I remember Christina Chong as Lorna. I was reminded of her when I read Lorna’s Escape in the Heroes and Monsters collection and how fans really latched on to her character and she was huge for about a week.

Chong is hilarious in that episode. Pretty much the whole cast are, really.

Oh, definitely! Loved Bruce Horak playing Hemmer in that one, too.

Enjoyed Ghosts of Illyria a lot. Really getting drawn into this series. Everyone looks so cool too!

Yeah, that is a good episode, and I appreciate the last log entry and the “one of the good ones” commentary…

SNW is great fun. I like how it blends the episodic nature & some of the tone of TOS with modern TV.

It’s nice how it brings up to date some things in TOS, given that TOS was progressive at the time it aired but is rather less so in some areas these days.

Lots of nice things they did, too, like making T’Pring a much more interesting character then her one off appearance in TOS.

I rather appreciate that they cast a blind actor to play Hemmer, too…

Oh wow, is he blind in real life? I love his character already!

He is, in fact, legally blind. First blind actor to play a character on Star Trek.

And yeah, he’s high up there as far as characters in Strange New Worlds for me.

A fun continuation of TOS. Yes its cheap, limited animation & reused footage but the stories are in keeping with the show.
