Spooky Season Movie Marathon!

We once took the kids to a Doctor Who day at the Fleet Air Arm Museum and the two celebs in attendance doing signing were John Levene and… Caroline Munro (who does actually have a Doctor Who credit to her name as she is in the BF audio Omega).

She put the Oh into Omega lol

The new Salem’s Lot. Pretty average. Bonus points to Mark for having a Sugar Hill poster on his bedroom wall.

I watched Friday the 13th. It’s pretty tense and simple, not too special, but definitely not over the top. 8/10.

Spooky Season? No.

Reformation Season? Yes. :grinning:

I watched Bell, Book, and Candle recently. Although it features a witch, the scariness may be up to interpretation and debate

A fun 1980s sleazy Giallo was my next Spooky Season Movie, Delirium: Photo of Gioia. Directed by Lamberto ‘son of Mario’ Bava its full of the usual stuff, a bit of nudity, some inventive bloody kills & a twisty turny plot. Not as enjoyable as 70s Giallos, they are more stylish & have better scores.

Not so much a marathon, bit of a stumble at the starting block, I’ve not seen a single scary movie yet! Been busy!

Going to try and do one tomorrow!!

Need to write a horror movie where someone is trying to watch a horror movie but keeps getting distracted. Is someone or something trying to warn them not to watch it?

Isn’t that just Sleep No More?

No.

I watched my first spooky movie of the month!

I saw His House. A very creepy and sad story, with a decent twist and an appearance of Matt Smith as well! 4/5

I love this movie, one of my favourite modern horror films. Grounded in reality, a commentary on life as asylum seekers in UK. Genuinely creepy with great performances.

More Lamberto Bava with Demons 2. Not as much fun as the first even if it is almost the same thing. A few entertaining lurid gory moments.

This is on my Netflix list but I’ve never got around to it. Maybe I’ll give it a chance.

It just popped up on BBC iPlayer and I got an email announcing it (I get them from Letterboxd), and I thought the premise sounded interesting and THEN I saw Matt Smith has a small role and I thought “this has to be fate!”

After a RedLetterMedia video about the Puppet Master series, I decided to revisit some of the films. I have watched 1-3 so far. Such camp, silly, strait to VHS fun.

Also watched that RLM video. & feel like revisiting Puppet Master.

Shortest horror movie ever.

An absolute classic from director James Whale & perfect for a cold rainy night. I watched it with the Gloria Stuart commentary track. Wonderful to hear the recollections of a star from that era. People may remember her from Titanic, she played Rose in the modern day scenes.

Just watch V/H/S/85, what with the new film coming out.

It was pretty good, though the best segment was directed by the guy who did Sinister, featured one of the main actors from Sinister and was basically just Sinister again but with more premonitions.
