So that would lean more towards Mrs Flood being the Master Of The Land Of Fiction rather than The Rani then. Unless the reality TV Show is an experiment by the Rani, dabbling in this new fantastical environment as opposed to science, after the Doctor spread salt at the end of the universe?
If that is the case, I hope there isnāt so much repetition and talking over one another this time round, because whilst I got the dramatic purpose, I found that quite irritating the first time round.
I donāt remember at all how far ahead we started hearing rumours of previous Doctors leaving and when we usually know for sure and when the new one is announced..?
I wouldnāt be surprised if Ncutti left at the end of this series but I wouldnāt be surprised either if itās just rumours because people love stirring [blip]
Whilst itād be sad to see Ncuti move on, Iād love this.
I also like the idea of a regeneration bookending a series again. Iām tired of one-off specials for regenerations.
Weāve never had a Doctor Who regenerate as the direct result of a dalek.
Just putting that out thereā¦
The Stolen Earth
Well, he started to regenerate. Then somehow (thanks RTD) 10 diverted the regen energy or somethingā¦handy(!)
So as yet we still havenāt had a regeneration directly by dalek. Which is surprising. It would actually make subsequent encounters more exciting.
He did regenerate! Into the same face! It counted as one of his regenerations.
From The Time of the Doctor:
CLARA: But you donāt die. You change. You pop right back up with a new face.
DOCTOR: No, not for ever. I can change twelve times. Thirteen versions of me. Thirteen silly Doctors.
CLARA: Okay, so youāre number eleven, so
DOCTOR: Ha. Are we forgetting Captain Grumpy, eh? I didnāt call myself the Doctor during the Time War, but it was still a regeneration.
CLARA: Okay, so youāre number twelve.
DOCTOR: Well, number ten once regenerated and kept the same face. I had vanity issues at the time. Twelve regenerations, Clara. I canāt ever do it again.
Hereās an article I wrote on the theory that Mrs Flood is the new Master Of The Land Of Fiction. I did elaborate more on Russell T Davies having paid tribute to a ādivisiveā Doctor Who story before, but looks like they have edited it out for whatever reason.
The omitted sentences basically referred to how Russell T Davies brought back the Toymaker from The Giggle, and how The Celestial Toymaker is a similarly controversial story, using examples of negative reviews about the William Hartnell Toymaker serial.
Tried to add spoiler tags but wouldnāt work for some reason. At least itās just a theory though so not really a spoiler.
But Iām being facetious, I also agree it would be good for a Dalek to kill him and make him change his face.
What if the reason Mrs. Flood was living near Ruby was because he was destined to die near there, and she was the latest version of the Watcher, preparing the way for his next regeneration?
oh god lol. So how many Tennants have we had now
Not enough. Never enough.
Ten nants?
Well its driving me Ten-nutsā¦
Thatās a new one on me and I like it!!
Cool article!
I also think the trailers, with the Doctor dropping in on Eastenders, The Apprentice, The Traitors, and Gladiators TV sets also makes me think of āthe land of fictionā (although he didnāt actually go into different fictional worlds, just different TV sets in London. Maybe itās nothing).
Thanks. I wasnāt sure about the ācontroversialā angle at first because the title was decided by one of the editors rather than myself, and I love The Mind Robber, but when I did research for the article I found there were more negative reviews for it than Iād anticipated.
I mean this could describe any episode really
