Are we having an open-ended regeneration scene (like was mentioned for 13) or has the new Doctor been cast?
Who is the next Doctor, and will they have a season next year?
How gutted would RTD be feeling about all this?

I canāt find the message but someone on the forum earlier was saying it was a well known open secret in the theatre.
IMO we could be in for a surprise casting, or an open ended like 13ās was recorded as. More leaning towards open ended.

If we were to get a hiatus, even a brief one. Iād rather a 7th Doctor style ending than a regeneration. Leaves a gap for EU stuff too.

It all does feel kinda āback to square oneā again though and quite disheartening.
Especially for the first main Doctor of colour to be going out like that.

Itās also entirely possible, even if Gatwa had a 3 year/season contract, that RTD will have planned for this eventuality once Disney+ only committed for two years/26 episodes. He will no doubt have wanted to keep Gatwa on, but RTD knows TV well enough to have thought about āwhat if Gatwa wants out sooner?ā
Not saying anyone new has been cast, or that itās ideal, but I think meetings and plans will have been made for various eventualities in this new era.
