Okay, hear me out.
Back in September, Deadline announced that Archie Panjabi would play a villain in Season Two. The BBC and Disney declined to comment, and, as far as I know, she’s yet to be officially announced as part of the show’s cast.
Last month, RTD said on DWM that there was a process by which the team decided whether an actor is put in the TV listings for an episode or is kept as a secret, and that an actor’s name originally meant to be kept off listings had leaked by then.
Now, there’s this YouTube guy saying that Mrs. Flood bigenerates as The Rani on episode 6, starring an actress with asian descent as her other incarnation.
Is this all an educated guess or is this whole Rani situation finally happening? It almost seems too good to be true, but it bugs me that both the BBC/Disney are keeping Archie Panjabi’s character away from promo. It reminds me of the S12 promo back in 2019/20 with Sacha Dhawan/Jo Martin, except that Archie was never even seen in public filming.
Or I’m just delusional and she’s just voicing some robots or the Anansi.

Some of these I hope is true. I’ve wanted to see the Rani and Omega return for ages, and I’ve been saying for so long that we need the Daleks back again. However, not sure I get the point of real life Doctor Who fans in the episode commenting about the Doctor and Belinda being animated. Not sure what kind of narrative purpose that would serve.

Immediate thoughts regarding The Well likely being a sequel to Midnight…
I don’t think that story needs one but it also doesn’t retroactively harm Midnight in my opinion. If The Well is a sequel to it and sucks well, I just won’t like The Well but it won’t mean Midnight is any less fantastic for me.
And it might not suck. It might be amazing.
love Midnight and do think, done right, there’s more to explore there. Do I think we are crying out for a sequel to Midnight? No, not at all. But Midnight won’t change as an episode for me if we do get one. Nor does it instantly write off the sequel episode for me just by its nature as a sequel alone.

I think it’d be a shame his run was so short, with the 8 episodes per season. First black Doctor to have an era solely dedicated to him, and most of it (imo) has been heavily inspired by RTD1 rather than feeling “new”.
I’d be upset if he left, but my upset is towards RTD and Disney rather than Ncuti.

If Ncuti regenerates at the end of the season it will be the first time having a non-special for regeneration since 2005, and it will come from absolutely nowhere because there are no rumours about who is next.
I’m not saying it’s impossible. Just seems unlikely?
If he wants to move onto bigger things then fair play to him. I’ll be disappointed but his career is more important to him than pleasing some Doctor Who fans

OTOH, it’d be interesting if, for once, the Doctor regenerated unexpectedly, with you having no idea it was going to happen beforehand and not having heard who the next Doctor was…
