A lot of Day of the Doctor clips have been showing up when I’ve been scrolling through Youtube Shorts lately, so I went and started bouncing around the DotD soundtrack as one does.
Jumping around in this track a little, and then starting at 2:20 and going to about 3:45… well listen for yourselves and tell what you hear. Let’s just say, I didn’t expect to be hearing that piece here.
I love soundtracks. There was a good 10-year period where I only listened to OSTs for Video Games, Movies or Shows.
DW has always struck me, for the most part, as the soundtrack to a show with very few pieces that stand on their own.
I’ve heard a lot of the DW soundtracks and none of them have given me a want to listen to them solo like Star Wars or Blade Runner OSTs.
I was looking for more tracks to add to my “dw bangers” playlist, this topic is a godsend
Very surprised not to see my favorite ‘This is Gallifrey, Our Childhood, Our Home’ here, though (or did I miss it?)! Brings me to tears everytime.
I want to know what people think the best Doctor who tracks are.
Personally I like thirteen/she is the doctor
So there is this mountain of pure diamond…
This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our home
The Sheperd’s Boy
Vale Decem
I am the Doctor
The Long Song
Owen’s Theme (Don’t like the guy but his theme…)
Just a few that came to me at the moment
I am the doctor
That’s so overplayed, there’s a Spotify playlist that’s just all the I am the doctors
I am the Doctor is very much the motif of the 11th Doctor and his era in general, I’m quite fond of Madman in a Box myself.
And a good man? Twelve’s theme is also overused but at least there aren’t 20 versions of it
Even after Shepard’s boy is used in heaven sent they still use a good man in hell bent.
A Good Man? may come up a lot, but at least Hello Hello is an absolute banger
We actually already have a topic on this subject:
merged them I love Akinola and Gold so much, both are such talented composers!!
I searched for it with a Dr who tag didn’t know about it
On my quest to find the most overused song, I searched Clara on Spotify, these are my results.
Clara’s diner is my personal favorite version
https://youtu.be/c53GTB2nmWo?si=Uh8n3kujfiHf4KD4 I think Dancing Across Space and Time is one of Segun Akinola’s best tracks and then Day of the Moon by Murray Gold is one of their best tracks.
Some other great ones are Rose in Peril, 0.709722222, It’s the End, The Lighthouse, Missy and Her Boys, Time Lords, Never Ever Tell Me the Rules, Father’s Day, City Music 1-3, Space Adventure, City of Death, and obviously the best track of all time… Wilf’s Wiggle.
