Weren’t there rumours a while back that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was going to be the next bond?
I’d definitely be down for that

It was between Craig and Cavill last time, despite Cavill being only 22 at the time Casino Royale came out.
If they’re fine with his age now, then I could see it happening as I think he’d be up for it.
If I’m honest though, I don’t see it being Cavill. I don’t think I’d be upset if it was but if the gaps between films continue as is then for longevity’s sake I’d like a younger Bond.
I don’t know who I’d want to be honest, I sort of trust the Family Broccoli on that front.
Other than Brosnan in the 80s initially and then the 90s eventually I don’t think they’ve ever gone with the obvious choice…
That is literally what I said above proof that someone likes a comment without reading it first
It was in the middle of a paragraph!!!

I just learned that David Whitaker owned a golden 007 cigarette lighter. Now I respect him much more; he was clearly a man with a sense of style (even though I don’t approve of smoking).
Forget football, we had the Thanksgiving Bond marathon on all day yesterday. If I’m being honest I don’t think there’s a single one of the Eon films I truly dislike, even if some are better and/or more memorable than others. Wish so many of those not as good ones weren’t 3/4 of the Brosnan era, as I really enjoy his take on the character, despite the material he had. Connery is the best in the role and always will be, but each one has brought something different and unique to the role. The idea of making the Craig era into a proper pentalogy with a continuing story was pretty cool, and I think really well done, Quantum aside, but I think I’d like to see a return to a more traditional, more standalone, classic style of Bond going forward.
Daniel Craig was such a good take on Bond in my eyes.
Casino Royale is one of my all-time favourite Bond movies, Quantum of Solace was just a mess, Skyfall was unbelievably amazing with one of the best Bond villains of all time, Spectre was also a really good entry in the Bond range, but…
No Time to Die just did not feel like a Bond movie in spite of how many callbacks there were to previous films. Murderous DNA-reading nanobots in blood that pass by touch just is so far removed with what I consider James Bond. It is my very least favourite Bond movie… I don’t think I have ever been as disappointed walking out of a cinema that after watching No Time To Die…
This wasn’t actually for LEGO Dimensions year 3, it was produced as a pitch for The LEGO group to convince them to give the ok for a full game, it was made during the last year Dimensions was being worked on when Tt knew Dimensions wouldn’t get a third year of content. Once again, TLG decided Bond wasn’t suitable, and vetoed the project. I think this has been found in the data of a Dimensions build, which is where the confusion is coming from.
Apparently it was a pitch for a full Lego Bond Game!
Would rather they made a ‘Doctor Who’ game…
Oh really? I thought NTTD was excellent, a sort of culmination of everything that the Craig era has built up, but I’ve not seen it since theaters. One of my favorite ones, maybe it won’t hold up on rewatch though. Don’t think it’s any more far-fetched than Die Another Day, that one’s toward the bottom of my list.
Oh, lovely a bond thread!
I must admit despite being a huge Fan of Movies (Yes I watch other stuff than Who!!) I never came about to watch all Bond Movies proper, besides Lazenby and Moore) I watched at least one or two Bond Movies.
Despite that I feel like I am already a contrarian, probably because I think Dalton is the best out of the ones I’ve seen. Loved both of his Movies, but they definitely need a rewatch, so why not use this thread as the opportunity to give some of my thoughts to each installment, as I make my way through them! (knowing me, probably not chronologically at all)
Starting with Dr. No, which I still have pretty fresh in mind, despite being months since I saw it for the very first time (admittedly I kept notes, but shhh!). That Movie certainly goes straight in, as @ChrisStokes pointed out pretty rightfully. I had my fun with it, but you can certainly tell it’s a first entry (at least for the EON Productions, that is). Still I think it still is quite an enjoyable Movie, with Connery delivering a pretty good Performance (although remembering it, I enjoyed him a bit more in “Goldfinger”, where he seems much more settled in the Role, compared to this one).
Speaking of “Goldfinger”, what a marvelous third Movie from the Franchise? I can definitely see why much praise it so much. Connery, out of the two Performances as Bond, I’ve seen him in, is much more settled in the Role and does deliver the natural charm that should come with a Character like Bond perfectly. Goldfinger is easily a favorite so far Villain wise. Such a fun Spy Movie, I certainly enjoyed it more the second time around after having it watched for the first time some years ago.
I am curious how those rewatches will affect the Bonds, that I already watched once, I remember thinking “GoldenEye” being the best for the long time, but who knows maybe that will change? Very excited to finally watch a Moore one, after somehow never doing it before
Goldfinger is probably the first one to really nail it as to how to do a Bond movie. The ones before it aren’t bad, but as you say, early days. From Russia With Love I honestly find a little slow even. From seeing most of it again a couple days ago, I agree that Dalton was quite a good Bond, Living Daylights having grown on me. I’d definitely say GoldenEye holds up as a great one too, always been a favorite of mine.
Yeah, I heard that Statement often, I am still looking forward to seeing “From Russia With Love”, as it is one that I haven’t seen it at all.
Glad to see somebody else finding Dalton great in the Role, probably one of the lesser ranked Bonds usually.
I think I just like the others more, more than I find Dalton particularly lesser.
