Speculation, from what RTD said in DWM, he says there will be new stuff about Gallifrey.

I hope and pray that Gallifrey is restored again somehow, maybe the Doctor makes a wish in Wish World?

And maybe he has to choose between Gallifrey and the Earth or something.

I just want Gallifrey back!

Me too :frowning: even if nobody does anything interesting with Time Lords and even if the planet doesn’t show up often on screen, I think it’s a. time we moved past the ‘last of my kind’ moping and b. just nice to know they’re out there

I’ll never understand why they kept going with that after the 50th and Heaven Sent/Hell Bent… Everything was set up to (finally) get rid of moping, Time War-angsty Doctor…

Also the Master keeps cropping up and cheating death - come on Doctor you know better. Using the “last of my kind bit” is stale…

I liked the “Last of His Kind” stuff, but I agree. It was great one time, but it should have stayed with that.

He didn’t even know she was related to Mundy until after they met.

Another thing. Who told the Doctor that he should look for Belinda? It was a he, but there was no other information than that.

I vaguely remember The Doctor mentioning being careful about timelines or something when he says that, so I was assuming it’s that his future self told him somehow

I was told about you. By someone. It’s kind of a long story, and I’ve got to be careful about timelines. But he told me your name, like you would be important.

Yeah it’s interesting.

This is like RTD trying to be Moffat.

RTD’s first 3 companions were just normal people, (I supposed Donna wasn’t but really she was until the last ep), then Ruby was a mystery box who turned out to be just a normal person.

Now Belinda is a mystery box who probably isn’t just a normal person.

It could work or could not. I’m excited to find out!

Are coincidences going to be a big thing in this season, like with the goblins in TCoRR?

  • The Doctor meets Belinda on her birthday, same as Ruby
  • Belinda wears the same coat as Ruby at the start (the one Ruby wore in Dot and Bubble)
  • Mrs Flood is neighbour to both of them
  • Belinda’s house is the same as Donna’s
  • The pram lady in TCoRR is the hospital receptionist

Dunno how many are coincidences and how many are for money saving!
