I’ll speculate that reality split in two when the certificates touched, and in one reality, both Alan and the Earth are gone, and that Alan and the Earth are fine in the other one, but Belinda and the Doctor aren’t in that one.
The end game will merge the two.

More seriously - I hope they do something interesting with Mrs Flood. I don’t think I have any actual ideas that I truly think they’re going to go for, but I’ll be happy with almost anything so long as it doesn’t just feel like something we’ve already done
