With all the collected Who knowledge (Wholedge? ) in this forum it seems impossible that there is any question no one here knows the answer to. Personally I tend to have questions that don’t feel like they warrant their own thread, but don’t fit into an existing one either. So I never end up actually asking, so I thought I would make a thread specifically for this kind of questions.
I am going to start with a question that has been bugging me for while know. Does anyone have any information on whether Lalla Ward is going to make anymore Big Finish Audios? It’s been a while since she has appeared in one. The only info I could find was that she doesn’t live in the UK anymore and that it could have to do with that.
I don’t know anything for certain but I’ve been presuming that the answer is no in the Gallifrey TW bts she seemed enthusiastic about wanting to do more, but I have a feeling that it isn’t going to happen, for whatever reason
Lalla Ward moved, I think, to Hong Kong and as far as I’m aware isn’t doing any more audios but like all these things it may change. She would need her own recording set up or they would have to use a studio (like they did for some of the US artists recording things like Dark Shadows) so there is a budgetary implication in using her.

Along the same lines, is there a specific reason why John Levine hasn’t done anything recently? Actually, looking at the Big Finish website, he actually hasn’t done much period. He’s done one Companion Chronicle, UNIT: Assembled and two volumes of Third Doctor Adventures (plus two episodes of the Big Finish Podcast). The last thing he was in was released in May 2020. With Richard Franklin having passed, he and Katy are the last two survivors from the Pertwee era.
John was not very happy after his first experience with Big Finish but it seemed to be partly due to a breakdown in communication and some misunderstandings on both sides. Things were smoothed out for him to return fot he UNIT box set and the Third Doctor adventures.
But in the kindest way possible, John can be tricky to work with I think so maybe they just aren’t pursuing it or maybe he’s not overly bothered about doing them.
Fair enough. I just think that if they ever do a Third Doctor/UNIT story with the Delgado Master, they should try to get Benton in it if at all possible.

Why did Jake McGann change his name to Sonny?
There doesn’t seem to be any information about it and I assume it’s just about actors having to choose a new name if one is taken or if their name isn’t very interesting, but would like to know if there is any other reason behind it.
Not seeing anything offhand, though there are enough places that say Jake Sonny McGann that I end up wondering if it might be his middle name.
There’s also a Jack McGann who is a fighter, and his brother and uncle are Joe and Joseph McGann. I can kinda see why he might want to use a more distinctive name.
(And there is a long history of actors and musicians changing their names to be more distinctive or avoid confusion. Musician David Robert Jones was worried about being confused with Davy Jones from the Monkeys, so he decided to go by David Bowie instead. OTOH, Joni Mitchell ended up having to stick with her ex-husbands last name because she got famous under it…)

The audio stories use photos of characters, for example The Paternoster Gang each audio boxset uses unique photos of the characters. Do they just have accesss to a huge library of photos that were taken back when these characters were in the show?? Or are new ones taken, or are some 100% photoshop?
