Option for hiding would be fine, I like seeing both sides whether people have negative or positive review.

The people have spoken!
I have now made it so reviews show the ratings by default.
You can go to My Account > Customisation Options and choose “Hide Review Ratings” if you’d rather not see them, and be surprised!
Just this once, Everybody Wins

Both styles are good when you’re reflecting on what you’ve just consumed - always good to see other people’s perspectives!
Also - I would say you’re underselling your reviews!

A couple of quick updates I just did to reviews - lots more planned still.
See who liked your reviews
Patrons can now see exactly who liked their reviews, right under the ‘like’ button:
See the total number of likes you’ve received, on the profile page
Everyone can more easily see the total number of likes they have received, right there on their profile page.
(I really should write more reviews).
Just a couple little details while I had some time. I do plan on adding loads more of these social-graph style things to reviews, such as being able to see the members who most frequently like your reviews.
Oh and also: showing number of likes right on the review before you open it up, sort and filter on reviews, etc… all planned!
As always, let me know any ideas for any little features you think would improve the site!
